How could you possibly like this move if you don't. I thought the movie was very inspirational. the acting could have been better, but this movie was recorded al long time ago. most movies in the early 80's have bad acting but great stories. She dazed off into a vision, watching the sparks fly made her passion as bright, as sharp as the light that flashed from the steel. Her heart would beat music she could see herself dance to. Each step was another move in her performance. With the encouragement and support of another she got her chance. Your Chance to Dance...the floor waits for you Take yourself to see this movie. Enjoy how she rises from the floor to walking through the doors of success. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1 out of 2 users found this helpful Posted: 11/16/2003A review of Flashdance by CrystallineFang Flashdance is one of those movies you only watch when you're too stoned or drunk to know what's on the tv. Beal's acting was terrible, as was the acting of more or less all the actors. From an aesthetic movie critic's point of view, the nudity was not only obscene, but stupid as it was entirely uncreative or entertaining. It added nothing to the film, which is a shame because the whole thing needed a lot of help. While the soundtrack may only be appreciated by 80's pop freaks, it was possibly the only good thing about the movie. Moreover, the screenplay was terribly written, and the end result was a film entirely predictable in nature, and most annoying to anyone with taste. I would suggest skipping Flashdance, and going for something worthwhile. But if you insist, I'd get your bong set up before hand... Was this review helpful? With a strong, ";before their-time"; story line, the film grabs you from the first frame and has you rooting for the film's heroine from the very beginning, bobbing your head and all! Although the quality of acting wasn't up to par for a then 18 year old Jennifer Beals, she was very believable as the young ";welder by day dancer by night"; who had aspirations of becoming a ballet dancer. The sarcasm and wit of the film definitely agrees with the time period and those watching the film for the first time now may find themselves rolling their eyes at some points. However, put aside the so-so acting and the now-lame sense of humor of the film & you've got an amazing soundtrack! Armed with the film's Grammy Award winning title track, ";Flashdance...What A Feeling"; the soundtrack also dons the talents of Michael Sembello, Donna Summer, Kim Carnes and Laura Brannigan just to name a few.
