So, why would you kill him off in a movie that's not even his? It's pretty much like having Batman in a Superman movie where Batman dies in the end. Silver Surfer needs to be in his own movie. And he needs to fight the real Galactus. Not some weird worm thing that swallows planets. Also, why is Jessica Alba the invisible woman? Why take someone like her and just make her invisible for half of the movie? Dumb idea. I'm not going to go into a lot of details, it had some cool action scenes, but really, it wasn't very good. I give it a 5.1 out of 10.
As for superhero movies i'd like to see, here's a list:
7. Silver Surfer. By himself.
6. The Human Torch. The one in the 40s who's a robot. He's way cooler than the annoying one in this movie.
5.Green Lantern. He's awesome.
4. Aquaman. Either make a movie or have a TV show. I mean, the pilot was awesome. What happened?
3. Howard the Duck. He's not a superhero, but he's a Marvel character. Close enough. And he shouldn't be CGI. He should be another midget in a duck suit. That'd be amazing.
2. Metal Men. Again, it shouldn't be CGI. It should be stop-motion or something. Metal Men are cool.
1. Metamorpho the Element Man. I'm pretty sure he will never be made into a movie, but if he was, I would be first in line. Metamorpho's my favorite superhero. He could even kill Superman by turning into Kryptonite. Was this review helpful? I was also left wondering...why hire a Latina actress to dye her hair bleach blonde and wear blue contacts?
This movie is two terrible hours of my life that I will never get back! :( Was this review helpful? I'm a Dad with a boy under 10, and my wife and I are starving for movies to go see that aren't always animated and have some semblance of a story line that a even young child can grasp. It's a delicate balance to please a pair of 40 year old parents and a 5 year old boy without losing the attention of the kiddo and not making the parents want to slit their wrists. The fact is that the bulk of moviegoers are teenagers and early 20's folks, and then parents and their young children. Any half ass movie that is something between a cartoon and a real movie generally makes a ton of money...what else is there? Was this review helpful? I say, if I run into another alliteration after all actors and actresses adapt I'm going to give up my job, please hold your applause. Overall and in conclusion, this quartet of quiet quill users had be gasping for air. Was this review helpful? The effects were great; the action was on-going. It was humorous and face-it Jessica Alba is great to look at. But the reality is that if you’re looking for enrichment or a life changing movie this would not be the one to see. However, it you looking for a escape from day to day life and want to have a bit of fun this movie will fulfill those needs. Was this review helpful? And my kids loved it they thought the Silver Surf is the best hero, after all he gives up a lot for earth.
All the bad reviews on here are from a bunch of grown ups who need to put down the comic books and pick up a real book or even better go see a grown-up movie, may I recommend 300.
Me I'm a MOM I have to see this movie, becasue the kids are under 10 and can't go alone. And out of all the kid's movies I've seen, I enjoy this one.
Because anything that is not a cartoon wins a star, and has a story line that keeps the kids in their seat the whole time another star, and I could enjoy too another star and had my kids leaving saying Was this review helpful? Do not go see it, you won't be happy you did. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 1 users found this helpful Posted: 7/2/2007A review of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer by Moses6533 Marvel Comics were my generation, but because kids are such a large demographic they are making crappy marvel movies that are really aimed towards children. This movie was total crap. A couple of so-so special effects, a terrible storyline, terrible acting. Too bad though, because it has a lot of potential to be great. It has a decent cast (Jessica Alba, Julian McMahon, Chris Evans), but the lines in both fantastic four movies are just soo lame. They do not even develop the threat of Galactus, one second it is 'oh no here comes a planet devourer' next second there goes the Silver Surfer to kamikaze the threat, and if you read the comics then you would know Galactus can't be destroyed, that's like destroying creation. Even with the Silver Surfer this movie still #^!@ed, his part wasn't even all that great. Not to mention this is following up the horrible marvel movie 'Ghost Rider' I am so dissapointed at this years comic book movie adaptations. Spider-man was barely OK, but definitely lacking. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 1 users found this helpful Posted: 7/1/2007A review of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer by ttnttr This is an action movie????
It was incredibly boring with virtually no action scenes or special effects.
The whole premise was too far-fetched even for superheroes.
Somehow this marriage thing between the 2 heroes takes precedence over the fate of the entire planet, and the feel good moment of the story is when they get married, not when the planet is actually saved from annihilation.
It just didn't register with me or my family.
Don't waste your time or money like the makers of this flick wasted theirs, although sadly they'll probably make a bundle, and go on thinking they did a great job and that this is the type of movie the rest of us want. HORRIBLE! at one point i looked over and half my friends were sleeping... the other half were only enjoying it because they were high.. honestly a waste of your money.. cheesy dialogue, ridiculous plot, when you find out who the silver surfer is, why he's attacking the earth, etc, your first reaction will be are you f**king serious.. so stupid. dont waste your $$.. go see 1408 or knocked up.. two VERY GOOD movies!
