We all loved it. It wasnt overly sappy, and had enough humor to keep me entertained. The whole theater laughed out loud at the totally unexpected laughing lizard. Great movie, good acting, and something I know many can relate to. Five stars! Was this review helpful? Which means that I am confined to a corner in office hell and I live with my mom... did I mention I am 28 too? If there are others like me out there... I am sure you will find this movie excruciatingly familiar and funny. The acting was not all that I had hoped for from Sarah Jessica Parker, but her personality really showed through (-Cough- Carrie -Cough- Sex and the City). Was this review helpful? Instead I spent a portion of my rainy stay in Oahu watching the number one film from this past weekend, the new romantic comedy Failure to Launch.
While going from wanting to see a gruesome horror movie to a chick flick are polar extremes from one another Failure to Launch is anything but that. It is neither very good nor is it laughably bad. It is one of those pictures that falls right smack in the middle of the spectrum...

Please Sarah...dont work too hard to look like you are acting...relax and fall in to your characters for now on! I probably will buy this movie because it is cute but oh where is Kate Hudson (Andy Anderson) when you need her! Was this review helpful? Thats what the cast of this movie should feel like, they did nothing and yet, got paid. Talk about a easy day of work! Run, dont walk from this overpaid nightmare. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 4/20/2006A review of Failure to Launch by Anonymous So as Im recovering from a recent health scare, im at my local blockbuster searching vainly for a movie. I come across Man in the Moon with Carey James, and start getting excited about space and rockets and stuff. Then my girl called and wanted to hit up a movie, so to keep her off my back, I decided to see Failure to Launch (me being in my rocket mood). As you might expect it wasnt exactly chocked full of rocket science or moons or anything about space. So over Bacio yogurt afterwards Im completely embarrassed talking with Rhonda (my girl) about the movie and my lack of prior knowledge on the subject of the movie. Overall and in conclusion, the movie really suprised me, and since I was looking for anything in the movie about outer space, I really didnt take much out of the movie. So, if youre like me and like sci-fi, I say pass. Was this review helpful? IT WAS CRAZZZZZZZZZZZZZY. i was swimming in my pants on me. The people next to me were spontaneously combusting and i was scared in the middle. but not to worry. none to worry at all. Henry Winkles was in it. He was great. He fell in love with the girl who cheat on his other friend who was in the movie on the scene when the bird pooped on the statue of liberty. hahahahahaha...oh...ill never forget that part. did i mention the pounds of explosives that Mathew Mckonohay had in his pockets at the end? good thing Tom Hanks ate them...and then...burped...and then...blew up...but stlll lived because tom hanks never dies. ever. neither does henry winkles. if i could sum this movie up in three words it would be Too Much...steam. i give it ten stars Ten stars for a good effort. heres to you, Failure to Conch! It was a good enough movie to say it was worth the trouble of coordinating the evening. I laughed out loud a few times and of course, my wife enjoyed it thoroughly. Was this review helpful? Sign In 7 out of 12 users found this helpful Posted: 4/8/2006A review of Failure to Launch by ladyl1027 In truth I wouldnt even give this movie a 1 star. The plot was too much like How To Loose A Man........The close ups were not flattering to Matthew or Jessica. The language and Terry Bradshaws bare back side should have made it rated R. I was taken by surprise by the pg13 rating. The plot was thin. Where did the nephew come from? No spark between the romantic leads. Should I go on? Was this review helpful? Failure to Launch was our second choice. We both agreed that seeing this film was a much better idea on a perfect Saturday night date. Ive been to the movies on a date before, but this is the best date movie to see. Not only are the very talented (and very good-looking) Matthew McConaughey and Sarah Jessica Parker the stars of it, but it also provided both slap-stick comedy and romantic scenes as well. We laughed our heads off during the hilarious moments and enjoyed each and every scene from the beginning to the end. During the movie, my date turns to me and whispers Im glad that we saw this instead. Much better than the last movie that we saw. We were very pleased with the entire film. A must-see for all of those who want to laugh and have an all around good time. Was this review helpful? It was one of those feel good movies that make you laugh. With so many dark movies out there, filled with violence, filthy language and horrible writing....it was refreshing to just be able to see a movie, laugh and have fun! Pull up your feet, enjoy the popcorn and prepare to just relax and have a great time! Well worth the money I paid to see it....if I want to see crap, I can just watch realty TV...it was nice to be able to enjoy a good movie, without all the drama and negative hype.
