This movie totally ruins any person's perspective of the first exorcist. This film is just plain chilling and scary.
HAHA! as of this moment (when this review is written) the movie came out on DVD in New Zealand and Australia at least 2 weeks before the North American release Was this review helpful? I've already been to see it 9 times! It's fantastic. There are great gory parts, good special effect, great acting, and the story it's self is fantastic as well. This is WAAAAAY BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL!!! I'm a huge horror movie fan, and I NEVER get creeped out by a movie. I was creeped out at the exorcism scene, whereas I was just about sleeping during the exorcism in the original. I recommend this movie to everyone! Was this review helpful? Once you were excruciatingly given the historical background, the premise became confused and the plot twists more tangled than "seaweed in a propeller". The special effects were your average tech schtick and the action...well. In conclusion, I am not a fan of the Exorcist: The End. Was this review helpful? So when I went to see this movie, I was not sure if I really wanted to see this movie but I did with my friends. But......... this movie is like mixed with "The mummy" and "The fly" and was not scary AT ALL. Good for me, but for the people who wants goose bumps, instead, you will laugh... Not as scary as the first (nothing is), but a very intense and unsettling depiction of supernatural evil. I was particularly impressed with the way the directors paralleled supernatural evil with historical, concrete evil. It helped to bring out the reality and effect of both upon the human condition. It relied purely on gore and shock value, as its plot was weak and full of holes. After sitting through almost two hours of blood, guts, and numerous images of dead and dying children, I left the theater wishing I had walked out sooner.
