This movie totally ruins any person's perspective of the first exorcist. This film is just plain chilling and scary.

I've already been to see it 9 times! It's fantastic. There are great gory parts, good special effect, great acting, and the story it's self is fantastic as well. This is WAAAAAY BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL!!! I'm a huge horror movie fan, and I NEVER get creeped out by a movie. I was creeped out at the exorcism scene, whereas I was just about sleeping during the exorcism in the original. I recommend this movie to everyone! Was this review helpful? Once you were excruciatingly given the historical background, the premise became confused and the plot twists more tangled than "seaweed in a propeller". It was a bit gory, however it did have several spooky parts. The first movie will never be topped, I waited 3 hours for tickets in NYC, then waited another 3 hours for the movie. The movie was well made and the story is very good. The 1st hour and twenty minutes has the usual suspence and surprice scares but the exorcism part still has me shaking, I can't stop shaking! I can't get the demon's face out my mind!, I almost had a nervous breakdown!, I came out of the teather shaking, praying and almost in tears!, ok I gotta relax...need to go to sleep....good night...Ahhhh!! It tied the story well with "The Exorcist" and how the demon sculpture was created and how the demon "escapes". The movie wasn't as scary as it was disturbing, and by that I mean certain images were too graphic for my taste. I think "The Passion of the Christ" was scarier because that movies sticks with you after you leave the movie theater, while "Exorcist: The Beginning" makes you go, "ohhhhh so that's where it comes from," something that the original movie didnt give you, at least not the whole story. But, as the sequels went on...it seemed that something horrible possessed the minds of those directors who agreed to produce them...they were utterly horrible! So, as this movie came out I was sceptical. To my amazment, I enjoyed every minute of it. The ending might make you scratch you head a little but it was very entertaining. Was this review helpful?
