His portrayal of one of Salsa's legends is remarkable considering the material he was given to work with. I would highly recommend everyone to get the CD, the music is just wonderful. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for the film. JLo missed the mark,she could have made one of the best films ever,at the Buena Vista Social Club level but chose instead to contribute her fluff talent to it and made it a forgetable film. Puchi's portrayal almost made me hate J Lo because she made it painfully obvious that she can't act. Marc and J Lo are not at the same talent level, he either needs to dumb down to her level or she had better step it up because hubby makes her look like a wannabe rookie. If Marc and J Lo ever consider tackling another similar project, I hope they do it with the dignity and integrity the subject matter deserves. Hector was flawed but also a genius but you'd never know this based on this film. Was this review helpful? Jennifer and Marc were fabulous they were the perfect pair to play Hector and Puchi! I did not know the whole story of Hector Lavoe's life, but this movie filled in all the blanks! I wanted to get out of my seat and dance the music was GREAT! This is a MUST SEE!!! I am definitely going to by a copy of this! If the English speaking people, who do not speak another language, could understand that sometimes when our first language is other than English there are words we don't know how to say in English so we say it in our language. DUH!!!!
Jennifer and Marc worked very well together, she potrayed someone telling a life of someone who passed, hey, if Jamie Fox can win an Oscar why not Marc Anthony?
This was a fantastic movie, I can watch it over and over again.

The low sales at the box office are a good indicator of this fact. Not even J Lo could save this wreck of a movie. Save your money on this one, unless bad movies are what you like.
