It did have a lot of scenes that resembled Super Man, Batman, and other super hero movies, but I still loved it a lot.
Friend gave it to me on DVD for Christmas, and I've watched it about 5 times now. Was this review helpful? And it's something that can really happen. it IS believable that the u.s. gov can tap into anything if they really wanted to. It is believable that something can go wrong and it's all hell for humanity. That was one of the best movies out there right now and that's because i expected it to be very good and it proved me wrong for being better than good. Was this review helpful? I found that the action and the plot twists kept me entertained all the way through. I have seen many action movies, and I think this is up there. Some of the scenes may seem weird and irrelevant at first, but if you stick with it you will see that the beginning plays a big part in the end.

The story is a real stretch in where every traffic light, store security camera and everything in the country are controlled by an out of control computer. The activg is thin and many events are so NON CREDIBLE, that all the noise (which goes on and on and on almost put me to sleep. I was so bored, I couldn't wait for the flick to end. Good perfomances by Shia LaBoeuf and Billy Bob Thornton coupled with non-stop action via "24" style is enough to keep the viewer hooked through a somewhat ridiculous plot involving a renegade military computer program using two seemingly innocent bystanders as pawns in a dark, high speed game of chess.
It's definitely worth the price of admission--go to a matinee if you're a cheapskate. Was this review helpful? Indeed, it's a good entertainment for your money. So go ahead and watch it. Very good production, good actors but result so so.

After the first 45 minutes when it was clear that a female HAL 9000 is the one who is behind the chaos, the movie goes down the hill. Predictable after that. They could done a better job for suspense. Disney's Wall*e did a much better homage to Space odyssey.
They movie also has some scenes from good Hitchcock movies that were wasted. Again a good production, but the suspense result is lost.
It really surprised me that the critics chosen by MSN graded the movie so well. Probably it's because there's not many good things around. Was this review helpful? Sign In | ||
