This movie has Jim Carrey who's one of the best actors that's not from the United States and one of Georgia's most famous, Jeff Daniels who's from Athens, GA (city where the University of Georgia's located). And they had the characters that were involved in all the funniest parts including the part where Harry (Daniels) had trouble flushing the toilet because it was broken. Was this review helpful? This movie is great!! If you havent seen it....you are missing out on a great comedy and you need yo watch it! Jim Carrey actually does have a chipped front tooth. He had the cap removed to make this film, and trust me. Thats the best part of the movie. He rear-ends another car while watching her walk through the airport and leaves the scene of the accident to return her briefcase which she has left near the escalator, but, she has "flown to Aspen and out of his life forever". Roommate Harry is also fired from his job and the two decide that between lack of work, creditors and their own boredom they may as well drive to Aspen to return Mary's briefcase. They arrive in Aspen cold, broke, and fighting, during which the case opens and it's contents revealed. The two spend the newly found money carelessly, never bothering to think that Mary might not want an empty briefcase. By the time they meet Mary, the kidnappers have revealed their identities, and are in custody by the FBI who have followed Lloyd and Harry from the start. There is a kind of hedonism about Lloyd and Harry's approach to life. After losing their jobs, they're more concerned with buying booze than with practicality. The premise of their dumbness is the hedonistic pursuit of pleasure found in money, women and how the other half live. It's the "dumbness" of the two characters that makes the escapism possible. If Lloyd and Harry were smart they would hold a job, pay bills, find women and go into business for themselves, and there would be no need to escape and no movie to make - at least not a comedy. This is a comedy where the main characters are too naive to see the results of their actions. Kidnappers, police and truckers live to regret ever crossing paths with Lloyd and Harry because they expose peoples' true colors. It is naive to mistake rat poison for medicine but a person shouldn't carry rat poison in an unmarked container anyway. An open container of alcohol in your car is definitely illegal, but anybody who can't distinguish the difference between urine and beer better take a sobriety test himself. Was this review helpful? The actors were hilarious too they fit the charcters very well. Without them the whole movie would be a mess. HUGE props to Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels. I recommend everyone to watch it. I'm not sure if there's a plot in this movie but if there is one, it's covered up by humor. My favorite scene would be the one where Llyod is driving Mary to the airport. It cracks me up every time I see it. This is my favorite movie and I would definitly recommend this movie to anyone of all ages. Every time you see it you'll almost surely be laughing through the movie. (If you noticed I already did a review for Dumb and Dumber...that was my friend's review on my user) Was this review helpful?
