It was sweet and funny at the same time. There were a few "adult" moments, but overall the level of obscenity was kept tastefully low, but that did not detract from the laughs. The other guy with the 1 Star got it right except for his suggestion that it was worth the matinee price, NO WAY. This is the worst movie my wife and I have ever gone to see, and we are serious movie buffs. We both LOL at scenes in previews of coming movies, so we were ready and in the mood for fun and a good laugh, but this one didn't even begin to deliver. The kids acting was horrible, there was no humor and the whole thing came across as some teens who decided to make a movie with their mom's video camera. About mid way through I was seriously contemplating asking for a refund when I looked at my wife and asked if she wanted to go catch another movie that was about ready to start and we jumped at the opportunity. Don't pay to see this move, don't rent it, don't buy it and don't waste your time if someone offers to let you watch it for free. Was this review helpful? Especially, because the movie had me laughing through out the whole movie even thou the plot is unbelieveable I mean what freshmen can afford a guard and what school would let in someone not knowing who they are. But yea the movie just makes you laugh because it's like Superbad or Knocked up. It just makes you laugh and isn't that what watching a movie is about. Sure it's no 40 yr Old Virgin( Apatows best movie by far), but I'll tell you this, this movie is way better than Walk Hard. The kids were funny, though the runt of the litter Emmitt was kind of annoying, but then again, the character was meant to be portrayed as annoying. Bottom line, this is a slapstick comedy with clever jokes, well worth the money, a movie I wouldn't mind paying to see again. Was this review helpful? It had a pedictable story line, but it was still entertaining. Owen Wilson's character was endearing the way he got attached to these boys. It was a fun movie to see with your pre-teens, teens.
