It was horrid in my opinion. The only thing I liked about the entire movie were the clothes. I mean some parts were funny but in my opinion I was sadly let down. It was about a writer--which I think is great--and she had great clothes and a super sophisticated attitude on life in general. However, it just seemed dumb. The plot was good but tons of confusion. I thought it was refreshing, fun and cute and it proves the point that women do want love and marriage; not the opposite way around. I thought the acting was sincere, especially when Ewan McGregor pretends to be a southern guy. That was wonderful. I saw this on a cruise ship and loved it. It left me with a smile and a happy feeling. Some movies are downright disturbing or sooo painfully predictable, but this wasn't at all! Some of the sexual jokes were kinda too much such as in the phone scene. That aside, the dialogue and use of puns was witty and funny. If you want to compare movies, this one is way better than "How to Lose a Guy" and "Love, Actually". That was garbage, but this is a real gem. Was this review helpful? This film is a funny witty and brilliant work of cinema, with hilarious word games and exceptional actors. (as if we should expect anything less of Ewan Mcgregor)<br><br> This movie also has a great soundtrack, which includes "heres to love" sung by Ewan Mcgregor and Renne Zellweger. <br><br> So next time you stop by block buster pick up a copy of Down with love, it's a good watch. Maybe good acting and witty remarks - no. Probably average directing and clvever editing - no. What about speedy cinematography - no. Okay, then how about a film which does not want me to reach down my throat, squish each vital organ into a bloody ball then juggle it all still in my body, while watching Orlando 'Bloody' Bloom.
