I saw this flick in the theater when it first came out, I was about 18 and had my first pair of gold earrings I got for graduation. I dropped one about ten minutes into this turkey, and had to wait till it ended to get it back. The only movie I ever wanted to walk out of in the middle. I actually found it funny when I wasnt bored to death. The ending was so contrived and ridiculous, I actually laughed. A midget serial killer in a red raincoat dribbling a ball. I am amazed this made anyones ten best anything, I kept checking to see if I hit ten worst by mistake. See it for the giggles and to know what a really bad movie looks like. I would have given it minus two stars if possible. <br>

Horrible horrible movie. Not at all worth the watch. Draaaags and draaaags. And it does not have the most realistic sex scene.... not anymore anyways, that would be Monsters Ball.

Beautifully understated performances add to the incredible tension built in this film. It is a slow sinking ship that works its way to a truely horrific ending. Maybe the only film that has really disturbed me to the core. I hate to say it again but they don't make them like they used too...

This movie has one of the most erotic love scenes I have ever seen. Julie and Donald are superb in their roles. It is so believable. It still leaves me with a feeling of dread, queasiness and the sense of evil lurking in every day life.

Fans of action and gore be forewarned: This is an unapologetic arthouse horror film. It has to be judged on those standards. Like many films of the late 60s and 70s, it creates a look and feel that have not been equaled. The scenes are quite blurry with stark European backgrounds puncuated by sudden outbursts of color. Very disorientating. The plot is quite simple, but easy to lose hold of in the visuals of the film. It is like you're in the middle of a very slow moving nightmare that promises at any moment to speed up to some grisly climax (which the film does). This may tire many younger viewers but be sure, the last fifteen minutes of this film are as scary as anything in horror movies.

If your a fan of slasher horror movies, and like lots of blood and guts with your action, this movie might not be for you; Don't Look Now is a true psychological thriller. The suspense builds when Julie Christie and Donald Sutherland, parents of the dead child, think they see her running through the streets of Venice in a red coat. Of course, the blind psychic and her creepy sister add to the mix and the acting is excellent, as is the cinematography, which at times is colorful and sharp, and at others, moody and atmospheric. Daphne du Maurier's books translate so well to film, especially those that we now called &quot;;thrillers.&quot;; Keep watching to find what who/what's in the red coat!
