After reading through about six pages of reviews either mindlessly praising it, or mindlessly criticising it, I figured that it was high time for an INTELLIGENT review. You know, one with actual reasoning behind it?
No, this movie is not perfect. No, its not the greatest film ever produced. Ill freely admit that. But, what this movie does accomplish is what it initially set out to do. As the title of my review states, the movie is mindless fun. Its a summer flick! What did you people expect?!
When I go to see a summer movie, I go to be entertained. I dont go to think deeply about the nature of existence. Theres time for navel-gazing during the winter.
Ill admit that there was some third-grade toilet humour present, but who in the audience didnt try to suppress at least a few chuckles at the sheer stupidity of those moments?
Ill finish off by restating my points. The movie isnt perfect. But then, it never tried to be. What it tried to be was an entertaining summer movie that, like most summer movies, requires minimal thinking.
I cant speak for everyone, but I think that it accomplished what it set out to do.

I have most of his movies, including one of my favorite movies ever MEET THE PARENTS. I am sorry to say that this movie even surpasses Zoolander with the level of stupid humor it has. I'm not a fan of Ben Stiller, but this movie showed him exactly how I see him. All of the characters were well thought out and the actors really made you care about the outcome. For all the underdogs in the world, you'll wanna stand up and shout "That's Right." Everyone gets what they deserve in this movie and you'll feel like you're one of them by the end. I would recommend this movie to kids with their parents--some parts aren't that appropriate--guys, girls, everyone. I don't think I've found anyone who didn't absolutely love it. To read the vast reviews written by people depicting this movie as a 4-5 star movie is sickening. Adults wonder why our teens/children are in the trouble they are in today with sex, drugs/alcohol, sexual identity problems, homosexual/lesbian sin ect.......Something is wrong when people thrive on being entertained by watching a garbage movie like Dodgeball. Finding humor in vulgarity and perversion shows how disturbed the world is becoming. Parents bringing their children up in a Christian home need to open their eyes to the fact God doesn't instruct us in the bible to,live one way, but it is ok to be entertained in another way with sin.
