The acting that Cuba Gooding does is so stupid it is unbelievable, you can see that he was not born to act like a gangster, and he cant cuss for crap! For example he always says motherf in some stupidly high pitched voice and always says stupid things like come on CUZ. Just horrible acting, I felt like watching a white country boy reading word by word something off of a script. Was this review helpful? From the start u think that it will get exciting but it doesnt and its a complete wast of money. the terrible acting and excplictly stupid and disguasting scenes make you want to shoot the tv. Cuba Gooding, Jr., gives another great performance as a greedy corrupt cop bent on getting paid in whats probably his best role in awhile. Clifton Collins, Jr., is excellent in the leading role as an ex gangster turned cop that may or may not be trust worthy and haunted by his conscience. What couldve been a simple by the numbers gangster flick, actually turns out to be a gritty morality tale with a pulse that has great performances, great action, great direction and some very shocking scenes of brutality. It may not be for everyones taste but those who appreciate gritty cop thrillers will get a kick out of this low key movie gem thats definetly worthy of a second look. Was this review helpful?
