The story is full of life and vigor ..Swayze was perfect for this role. Dancing was incredible. Ive probably seen this movie over 50 times and everytime i watch it with the same level of interest like ive never seen it before. Thats when u know ure watching a good movie. This movie is way before my time but i can appreciate it for the wonderful work of art that is is. Grease is my ultimate favorite but this one is my second favorite of all time. It is one of the most fantastic, lustily romantic, yet NOT in the way that modern "now" movies are depicting romance... No, no.. for some reason this movie is humble, showing the earthly, naturalistic and showing the difference between the dancing and sex...how the bad, horribly vile busboy Robbie got to have sex ( as in not a very goood thing, althgohthe wording migth be misleading.ishly) with all the women practically, yet was still quite glorified by the father until the end, when the truth, although a little bit surreal was realized, that Johnny was indeed just a wonderfully talented boy who was helping out his partner. I think that obviously, this showed the tender, and most cute. And I cannot describe it, for all words seem to fail me when I attempt...I have just seen it for the 4th time in a row... and have enjoyed its splendorous, beautfiully provacative and entrancing dance routines, Baby's dancing passion.... But most of all...I'd just remembered, when playing piano: One hand sounds pretty good alone, but when the other one joins it, its harmonious glory shines and radiates with nothing like anything else, just like when a man and woman get together... the most absotlue beautiful partnership and harmony of their love... resonates.. and just LOVE it!!!! makes me want to dance!!! I saw Dirty Dancing for the first time when I was three year's old and it still remains my favourite film to this day, along with all my friends. It portrays something that should not be tolerated in our society. What I am talking about is how this movie shows this 35 year old guy hitting on a 13 year old girl. <br><br> In this movie Swayze is old enough to be Jennifer Grey's dad. The sad part is that most women I know think this movie is great instead of seeing the reality of what is wrong with the movie. If the guy were the same age, but strange looking, I think most women would have a whole different view of the movie. Since Swayze is cute it is o.k. that he is a pervert.<br><br> Jennifer's father or older brothers should have introduced Swayze to their gun collection. They should have explained that they had a gun and a backhoe, and that nobody would miss his sorry hide.<br><br> Jennifer Grey does a good job with her part in this movie. Swayze does his typical bad Fonzi impression. I have never seen Swayze do a really good job of acting. In this movie he is the type of person you would not want hanging around a school yard. No telling what little girls he might try to pick up on there.<br><br> This movie really needed a scene where Swayze is beaten senseless to the cheers of a crowd that knew what he was doing with Jennifer. The crowd should chant pervert, pervert, pervert.<br><br> The world would be a lot better place without movies like this making young girls think it is o.k. to sleep with old guys that cannot get a date with women their own age. <br><br> This deserves less than one star. Patrick Swazy is a wonderful actor and that girl ( forgot her name) was a great dancer I loved watching how they taught her. I believe that this movie is so great mostly because it moves people and teachs them about life. this movie teaches people about life because it teachs people that if you love somebody with all your heart then it doesn't matter if you are rich or poor or what kind of person they are you should go for it no matter what. I believe it also teachs people that you have to break the rules sometimes but at the end you need to show everyone what you have learnt and what you know. just like they did Was this review helpful?
