jack johnsons music fit the mood of the film beautifully, and the animation style was very eye catching and impressive. this movie can keep the interest of a five year old and also a 50 year old.
it plays on many emotional fields and had a fun, witty ambience about it.
It was well written and it has the right balance of fun, comedy, romance, frustration and sorrow that every well rounded movie should.
this movie was way better than what i expected and if you are fan of animated films i suggest you give it a shot. Was this review helpful? The good thing about the movie is that my son now LOVES to have me read the books to him. He laughed and was sad when George almost went home. I think this movie is definately worth buying when it comes out on DVD. Was entertaining for adults as well as kids! Was this review helpful? It spoke of how Curious George promoted in the subtext of its visuals imperialism and animal cruelty. For some strange reason I think the author of this article was reading a bit too deeply into the simians first foray into motion pictures, which serves up mildly diverting and imaginative family fun. It is for those of us that are still captivated with the stories of Curious George (me, for example) or, have younger children. I did not know if my 5 year old would enjoy this movie (I should say, sit through the whole thing). Surprisingly, not only did he sit through the whole movie, he was enchanted with the story of George and the man with the yellow suit. This story engaged his feeling of compassion for the George and his troubles, and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing him so engaged. I also have to say that I grew up with George, so I may be a bit biased! We both really enjoyed it and will probably watch it again when it comes out on home video. Curious George was very appropriate for children. More movies should be like this one! I really recommend taking the time to watch this one! Was this review helpful? This movie was done cheaply, you can tell by the happy go-lucky colorful animation. (No CGI?) Hooray, makes the little jumpy and overexcited..... (They wont get out of your hair for weeks on end, speaking of nothing but this uninspired movie, making blasphemy out of H A margarets beloved books. Was this review helpful? It was really well made. The animation was amazing and the story line was really cute. I will buy the DVD when it comes out. Great family movie..... Was this review helpful? The charm of this movie is in its simplicity. The animation style is pretty faithful to that in the books. There is no racy double entndre, and no violence just 82 minutes of absolutely adorable good clean fun. It is so nice to see a childrens movie that is actully made for children. Yet depite its innocence, it remains thouroughly engaging for adults without even trying. I played hookie from work for a few hours and went to see it by myself. To my surprise there were more people in the theatre without children than with. I saw grown-ups giggling with utter delight. I could watch this movie again and again. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 3/2/2006A review of Curious George by Anonymous Im 45 and my wife is 38 and we loved this movie. Its good to see that the original story of innocence is as good as it was 35 years ago in school.
We saw it as a couple, no kids. Was this review helpful? Sign In 6 out of 9 users found this helpful Posted: 3/1/2006A review of Curious George by Junebird14 This is a cute movie. It is definitely made for children 12 and under. If you are an adult and want a nap it is fine for you too. Was this review helpful? She sat and watched the whole thing without trying to run around the theater. (A first) The colors are bright, the story is simple and there are no adult suggested lines to explain or hope they wont repeat. She didnt want it to end. Ill probably have to buy it when it comes out on dvd. Was this review helpful? I heard that this movie was going to be sooo cute and funny, I was even going to see it with my middle school friends! Once my aunt said that she was going to take my cousin to see Couriuos George, I jumped up and down for a stright minute! Ive heard that it is the best family movie, yet, and kids from 2 to 92, could see this movie without worring about any bad things. I cant wait to see it! Was this review helpful? Sign In 7 out of 8 users found this helpful Posted: 2/23/2006A review of Curious George by Mustang71012 Curious George is a very cute movie. The monkey itself was very cute. I just wanted to squeeze him! Will Ferrell was very cute as the man in the yellow hat or Ted as they called him in the movie. Everyone will love this movie. Young kids will love the story and all of the bright colors, making it a happy movie. Teens will remember back when they used to read Curious George and parents will remember reading it to them. There was not a dark moment in the movie. Everything was fun and upbeat. Take the family! Was this review helpful? Sign In | ||
