Often times after reading a book and wondering what the movie version would be like, you're filled with excitement when you hear it's becoming a reality. I've read everyone of the Shopaholic Series and must say I was disappointed that the movie was very loosely based on the book. The characters in the book are English, yet they're New Yorkers in the movie. I'd even say that the only things based on the book were the names of the characters. While the movie itself was very lighthearted and funny, it was disappointing because my expectations were elevated! I did however, really enjoy the Derek Smeathe. It was hilarious how they wrote the character. If you don't know that the movie is based on an extremely well written, naturally hilarious series of novels, then you'll enjoy the movie. I give it 3 stars.

I loved it, and I'm the opposite of a shopaholic! It was cute and fast-paced and genuinely funny. The movie-makers even managed to get a semi-serious point across without being overt or schmaltzy. It was "fluff" at times, but that was pretty much why I went to this movie: to have laugh and have a good time! Isla Fisher does an awesome job of being extremely annoying and lovable at the same time, and I really enjoyed it.

Rebecca Bloomwood is way to perky. In the end you think that she is so annoying. My best friend read the book and said it was so much better. So, I would advise you to read the book instead. I'm going to.

I don't know why critics in media give low rating to this movie. This movie actually reminds all to control expenses, especially under current economy. It is very educational for kids as well, where kids don't quite under the recession we are in. It is sad to see the critics from media impacting the box office office of this movie. I even read about one article talking about the they felt for the leading actress in taking this movie. That definitely was very opinionated.

There were some sappy stuff, but it worked. I really enjoyed the movie and found myself rooting for the various plots. The actors gave a solid performance, a little predictable and other times not. But this was a fun, entertaining, and uplifting movie about empowering one's self. The girl in the green scarf is not a chump!

We got to this movie 25 min. early and the theatre was already 1/2 full. My husband & I sat down and he made the comment, "Geez, am I the only guy in this theatre?" We looked around and sure enough, he was!! As we sat there 25 min. waiting for the show to start, more and more females just kept showing up, until the theatre was nearly totally packed. Right at the end, another guy showed up with his daughter. A whole theatre of women and only 2 men. I couldn't believe it! I loved Shopaholic. This actress is becoming my new favorite actress! It seems she can play all kinds of characters and just become them. I loved her in Wedding Crashers and Enchanted too. She just sparkles and is so funny. I found myself laughing outloud quite often. The lead guy was so handsome, like a prince with the British accent. My husband liked the movie too. But not as much as I did. Hubby gave the movie 2 stars. I don't understand that. I could watch the movie again right now. It was that good!! Don't miss it.

I really enjoyed this movie. I often value the critic's input, however I think not all movies are meant to be intensely thought provoking and some are just for pure enjoyment. Shopaholic was so fun to go watch with my girlfriends and even during the movie I thought my boyfriend would probably have found this amusing as well. I thought it was quick paced, which chick-flicks definitely need. If a chick flick gets boring, well then it gets really boring and you are just waiting for the end to come. I never really felt like this with this movie and I think that is a major bonus. The clothing is outrageous, but as a girl - I kind of hated to admit that I identified with her feelings. I would say watch it and just enjoy - after all my mott is to have suspension of disbelief and just enjoy the movie. ;D

This was a well writen and well done movie based on a popular series of books . Ive read the books and hoped the movie would do the books justice and it did. The movie was a well writen version of the first two sophia kensella books. i loved the fashion, the music and pace of the movie. Isla fisher was so great as becky and the rest of the cast was great too. I laughed so much it was a wonderful movie to see to get away from the winter blues. I left the theatre happy and energized. If you like the previews or have read the books you will want to see this movie. See it on the big screen its worth the money. I hope they do another movie in the future. Isla you were awesome!

Ok, I will admit that most guys get bored out of their goards at a chick flick. This film is was one of those exceptions that was a blast to see and worth recommending to others. I would have to say that this film really held my interest. The writers and actors did and excellent job in presenting viewers with a real life example of today's economic world. Let's face it who can not identify with a person who has maxed out a credit card? To save a few bucks and pay for the Popcorn, I suggest hitting the early show.

Took the wife to see it on Valentine's Day, and I gotta say we both enjoyed it. It is well acted, well filmed and well written. Good story telling and wasn't predictable. You get drawn in and actually care about the characters. Great ironic boomerangs throughout.

I almost didn't go see this because the reviews didn't seem favorable; however I decided that I was going to see it anyway and not set my expectations too high. I have read all the books and loved them. No, the movie is not as great as the books, and they did consolidate the books into one movie, but the movie was still light-hearted and entertaining. Take the movie for what it is, laugh, and enjoy!
