Garr play's opposite Dreyfus in this exciting, sci-fi thriller that pioneered special effects as we know them today. Garr is a doubting housewife of a man, Dreyfuss, her Husband, who happens to have had a close encounter. Due to his manic repression of a vision in which he is unable to explain, Garr forges on until Dreyfuss' obsession overrules common sense. In fear for her life, Garr flees for her life as her Husband becomes as focused on his vision as a crack head is on the pipe. Maybe he was with the intensity of his execution of delerium. Garr still shines brighter than Dreyfuss' face after his first close encounter, a bright beam that burns one side of his face. Garr is a gem once again as she carries her role in a most convincing fashion.

Lost in the hype around Star Wars, this gem of a movie is the smart mans ";sci-fi"; film. Superbly written and acted, featuring Spielberg's favourite everyman in Richard Dreyfuss who sees lights in the night sky. He can't explain it and against the wishes of those around him, feels compelled to investigate this frustrating enigma that becomes clear. Featuring powerhouse special effects and awesome score by John Williams. This is the movie that makes you think ARE WE ALONE?.
