Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful This movie had the misfortune of coming out in the same year as Godfather II. Had the Godfather sequel not come out that same year, Chinatown would've run away with the Oscars. This movie has everything -- a great cast, great locations & a fascinating story line that will keep you guessing right up to the end. I continue to watch it from time to time, and always enjoy it just as much as the first time. The movie offers Jack Nicholson & Faye Dunaway at their best, complemented by a great supporting cast. This one should not be missed. Was this review helpful? Faye Dunaway is wonderful in this film and one could say one of her best performances. (";Mommy Dearest"; also comes to mind) Jack Nicholson is fantastic as the calculating JJ Gittes, a role seemingly fit for him. A definite film-lovers film. 5 stars. Was this review helpful?
