I thought I might like to see it when I saw previews on TV but I never got to it. One day my friend and I decided to go to the Horrible Movie Club at our High School. We watched Bulletproof Monk. I couldn't beleive how bad it was. Everyone made fun of it through the first hour. But soon peoples brains were too numb and the just gave up. There was too much to make fun of. It does a good job of staying on track and not a bet dull anywhere in the film. It avoids getting stupid as these films can do, and just simply gets silly at times. There are of course a few parts that may be unbelievable, (besides a majic scroll) like the N^zi goons who chase the monk and his "apprentice" around along with the helicopter scene, but this isn't reality is it? The graphics are fun, taken from the Matrix of course, (isn't everything?) that really adds to it. Simply put, this is a film to watch. Was this review helpful? I am sometimes bewildered by the criticisms professional critics level. This was not "Crouching Tiger," but any resemblance or suggestion that the two are related or should be related is a naive concept. <br><br>I thought the premise was original. No more or less plausible than the drek which passess for "solid entertainment" at the box office. The concept was refreshing and the action scenes were elegant and fascinating; not a frenetic and aggressive display of swirling kicks and jabs ala "Jackie Chan." Was this review helpful? Seann William Scott is a lot hotter and funnier in The American Pie Movies. But all in all it was worth seeing. (If u rent it)recommendation from me to whom it may concern rent it first, if u like it then buy it. Everyone has their own opinion, and I just expressed mine. This is not just my opinion, according to the movie reviews, it didn't get a very good review, and it also only stayed 2 weeks out in the theatre in my town. Better luck on your next movie Seann. Chow-yun Fat and Kar are not as cute, but they come close. The story is simple, familiar but done with sincerity and energy. It speaks of serious things -- for example, evil as stupidity -- but with a glint in the eye. Masters -- people who have it together -- always see the real reality, and there's always a laugh waiting in the wings for the benders of reality. Yes, flying is possible, everything is possible. My brother doesn't get it. But then he's a professional cynic. This movie isn't for cynics. It's for the kid at heart. If you understand Mulan, you'll understand The Monk With No Name and Kar. Plus, the music is first-rate, and this is by the guy who excoriated "Goldeneye". Was this review helpful? The monk was able to laugh at and enjoy his apprentice's attempts to become more enlightened. I also liked the twist at then end. Chow Yun Fat, as always, was incredibly graceful in his fights. Seann William Scott was surprisingly agile and quick. This was good entertainment. I will definitely buy the DVD when it comes out. Was this review helpful? I thought this would be the type of action adventure just about anyone in hollywood could make work, the premis was amazing, the story was not, the powers that be should have handed the script over to Owen Wilson, if there was one.There were so many holes in this story, the fun leaked out.
