The movie starts off ryan phillianppe is a fbi rockie who is welling to do anything to make agent. He gets paired with senior agent, to find out what is going on. Is the senior agent giving away government secrets. The senior agent is super smart, i mean super smart. My husband and I saw this movie today. We enjoyed it. It was interesting because it was based on a true story. I prefer a little more suspense and drama. Thanks God we caught him!

It seems to go on and on and on without any action. The acting was good and I liked how it was connected to the whole religious aspect. It connected to the characters in different ways.

I thought this movie was very suspensful. If you are looking for your action packed thriller however, then this movie is not for you. The character and plot development were superb. It was based on a true story and I love that it was not over embellished nor any longer than it needed to be.

My partner and I went to see this movie last night and are both still talking about it 24 hours later. If you are looking for a fast action, shoot-em-up espionage thriller, rent Mission Impossible. If you are in the mood for a thoughtful, beautifully crafted and perfectly paced journey into the depths of human the human ego and the dark paths it can lead to, this is your movie. Dont get me wrong, I love a good car chase or fight scene as much as the next girl, but there is something deeply satisfying about a movie that allows you to immerse yourself in the mind of a complex, evil and ultimately tragic human being. Chris Cooper, as always, delivers a multi-layered performance, gradually unfolding a portrait of one of the most disturbing characters I have seen on film in many years. I went from grudging respect, to a sense of unease, to genuine horror over the way his character rationalized his abuse of the power and trust given him. We all have times where our pride and sense of self is violated by the world around us, and this is a beautifully drawn portrait of how living in a place of resentment can become a hell that we cant find our way out of. This, more than anything else in the movie made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. This movie is in some ways, intended or not, a morality tale of what can happen when a person allows their ego and sense of entitlement to lead them to compromise their principles one little step at a time. Ryan Phillipe delivered a fine performance and is showing signs of developing into a solid young actor. His baby face and look of continual bewilderment served him well, and he was able to move beyond this into a range of emotions wider than I thought possible. All things considered, this was one of the best investments of my movie dollars in a long time. Dont let the disappointed twenty-somethings poor reviews get you down.

Another CIA movie?! Like you gotta be kiddin me. First it was the Possible Mission, then its 2 kids. Second it was The Recruit, which was just a bad excuse to bring back Pal Acino and stick him with Will Ferrels bad boy bro, Colin. And now we have come full circle, back to nonficiton. They say that was goes around comes around, and you can certainly say that about this flick. Nothing is more unbelieveable than fiction. As Mr. Ferrell said it himself, Stranger Than Fiction. As a profesional, I know that all producers are the same. They pick people to pick on people pickers. See, again with the cyclical motif. Another reason to give this movie a solo star, it has unique themes-NOT. They keep singin the same song, guy screws up (kind of on accident, kind of on purpose) and now he has to go further than he ever thought he would go to protect himself. The same old theme-the snowball effect of lying. First a fib, then a big fat greek lie. I have seen it a thousand times. Why should the fact that the man goes too far be a big enough of a shocker to shock people into pulling cashish out of their IRAs to foot the bill of their ever expensive late night theatre ticket(s). Frankly, I think Hollywood needs to quit focusing on the past and push to the future. Its over, you can visit the Bahamas anytime you like.

I saw this movie today and liked it very much. Ryan Phillippe was terriffic and there couldnt have been a better choice for Hanssen than Cooper. I do wish there would have been more of the actual spying-counterspying action.

I thought it was a good movie. Its supposed to be a true story, but I wonder how much liberity had been taken to make it more interesting. I would have thought if we had seen him in action, it would have been more exciting. The thought that a man so religious could be so devous, dishonest and just plain weird, blows my mind. By his words and action alone he should have been tagged a NUT.

I HATE misleading trailers! This movie came out and looked like this thriller - HA! I struggled to stay awake even though I was very excited to see this movie. I love Chris Cooper, thought he did an excellent job of portraying the mindset of this man, but honestly, we couldnt come up with more action than that? I sensed tension in this movie I think twice. The rest was very blah. Dont waste your money!

I havent yet seen this film and henceforth cannot offer any reiviews up as to whether or not its worth the extremely high ticket price, however I would like to point out that neerly every review has called it an, adult thriller and none of these reviews mentioned that the film is rated PG13. Now I am by no means a person that thinks that we should shelter our children from the world ie. sex, war, etc. However, it seems to me that we have loss sight of what makes an innocent youth innocent. When did espionage flicks become 7th grade standard? I remember PG13 being The Adams Family Movie and to allude to intercourse between Gomez and Morticia the camera would pan off to rustling leaves or a cupid fountain. What ever happened to subtlety?

I think the actors did a good job, but the movie moved slowly. The ending was anti-climatic. However, it is based on a true story so they cant deviate much from what really happened I guess. Rent it on DVD rather than spending 10.00 to see it in the theater.

This movie was great. In the beginning it started off slow, but it picked up very soon after it started. I did not see one person leave the theater, that is how good this movie is. I would reccomended this movie for anyone over the age of thirteen. There were multiple times when you did not know what was going to occur. Amazing film. Five stars all the way.
