ITS so kewl. I love the plot of it its different from other movies. Its like sayin Brazil is Brazil, theres no other movie like it. The actors did a terrific job, and the effects were kewl. When this movie came out it was ahead of its time like beavis and butthead was. Old movies like these become so cool later on. ITS A MUST SEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

This movie is a bit like Office Space, in the sense of how confined the modern day work environment is. But that's about as far as the likeness ensues. A british-made film, with ex-Monty Python member Michael Palin, it goes into the grueling future where everyone is monitered by the government, and nothing gets in the way of perfection. Being led through the mind of Sam Lowry (Jonathan Pryce), we get to see the mind of a man whos dreams are fantastical, who dreams to fly higher, to get his girl, and to live in the open air away from the stuffy lands of buildings and nightmares, but is tragically stuck in a dead-end government job of paperwork and torture (literally). If you're fond of movies that mess with your head, this is DEFINETLY one to see. A cult classic, a wonderful film. If you like this one, go see 12 Monkeys, Dark City, Pi, or Requiem for a Dream. I think you'll like them.

just when you thought Terry Gilliam would be stuck making light-hearted comedies, Brazil is made! this is not a Monty Python movie, despite the director. instead, it's a more comedic version of George Orwell's 1984. instead of armed forces against the totalitarian government, it's heating and air-conditioning engineers/terrorists against the totalitarian government. as you sit and watch, you cant help laughing. but soon, that laughter becomes a grim realization that this future may not be that far away. Gilliam creates another classic. He is not just an excellent Python, but an excellent writer/director.

Brazil is the most wild, entertaining, humerous, exciting, romantic, yet action sci-fi film of it's decade. The way it depicts the future as a terrorist-filled, machine run, neon light filled world without trees locks you into this bizzare world of ";What if?"; The whole time remaining fialry humerous about all of it. The scene often changes from futuristic reality, to the dreams of the main charectar - who is in love mysteriously with someone he has never met. The artistic way of portraying the main charechtars dreams, and hopes gives the film a unique texture. The cinematography of the film brought this crazy dreamy, scary sci-fi world to life. This film is deffinetly worth seeing, though becomes less appealing with time. However, the last set of scenes closes off the film at just the right time, and makes it all work.
