The highly stylistic environment sets out immediately to depart from the traditional role of Dracula. This piece of art successfully completes a tale of technique that surpasses the style of Kill Bill and Pulp-Fiction. Although some of the characters are a bit stereotyped, they provide enough action to keep the story proceeding. This film is a masterpiece. Was this review helpful? P.S. Lucy and a wolf were just never meant to be. Was this review helpful? It is so powerfull and strong, and really sad. I didn`t find it scary though, but it still is a really really great movie. I cried in a part when Mina said the phrase "her face is a river", while dracula was crying. I also cryed too in the final, just when Mina took off the head of dracula and looked at the painting, with some tears on her face, smiling. It is horrible to think that she killed him for him to have peace.
Gary Oldman is, in my opinion, the greatest actor of all time. He really fits in in all the kind of character that they give him. He is a box full of strong emotions that make him capable of doing very powerfull scenes. The scene of the bleeding crux it`s really awesome! I really think that everyone up to sixteen should see it! The struggle with sexuality in Victorian society. Great special effects and performances by Anthony Hopkins (as always) and Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder. You might also like the Interview with the Vampire flick if you like this one. Was this review helpful? Maybe it`s because i loved the other things in the movie, like the "love never dies" thing, the special effects that were absolutely marvelous and Dracula, my favourite vampire for sure, that is great really.
For those that like erotic movies i`m sure they would give 5 stars to this movie, i only gave 4 just because of the erotism that has. The acting(except for Keannu Reeves), cinematography, costumes, special effects, screen play are superb. FFC succeeded in what other directors failed: Humanizing our infamous blood^!@$er. Instead of concentrating on the gore, he opted to focus on the romance between Minas and Dracula. We are led to believed that what he is doing, no matter how horrible, are all done in the name of his undying love to his bride. It is a must see for everyone. Was this review helpful?
