But, this movie was just not as funny as I had heard it was. I am ashamed to have even watched this and purchased the DVD from Movie Gallery. Maybe this movie is one of those that you'd have to watch a second time to understand it, but not for me. One time around was all I needed with this movie. It was a complete waste of unwanted, undeserved, and unpleasant humor that just was not funny. And, I am not upset about the part when Borat wrestled with his 400 pound cameraman. All of the stupidity was leading up to him being turned down by Pam Anderson, and can you blame her? I know I could not blame her for her actions toward Borat when he tried to kidnap her. But, all in all, the hype around this movie was completely stupid and pathetic. Saying that this movie is the funniest movie on the planet is a complete waste of time that you could be spending playing a sport or something else more industrial and productive than watching this hyped up piece of garbage. It was pretty sick though. Its a great move to quote from too. There are so many funny lines in it. If you like offensive and funny shows like Mind of Mencia or Family Guy then you will love this movie! PS if you are jewish then dont see this movie cuz you will get very offended! If I want to watch toilet humor and ethnic bashing I will watch South Park. At least their writing is creative. I could barely sit through the DVD. I used to watch the Ali G show a lot, and this character appears in most episodes. A typical American sense of humor wont get you far in this movie. You have to be a very open minded.

Yes, the naked fighting scene was a little disturbing, but it made the movie so much more interesting. I belive that this is a harmless movie, that just wanted a few laughs. I laughed my butt off from begining to end. If you are looking for a REAL COMEDY, I would rent Borat. And for the people who think it is offensive, they need to stop watching comedies. Luckily I had a free rental coupon so didn t have to pay a cent to see it.
I think the comedian is making a point in how much money he can make from Dumb Americans. We are suppose to find hilarious those horrible jokes about Jews just because a Jew is making them?
I was cringing and going OMG how horrible. This isnt funny at all. And most of the Americans he was trying to humiliate were being very kind to him in showing restraint. A lot of them were saying, That is not right to say, you shouldnt say those things. But the only ones talked about were those who went along with him in saying horrible things about others. AND he had to get some falling down drunk to do it.
Chevi Chase did a much better job in showing Americans in his National Lampoon International movie. He was always the butt of the joke and got us to laugh at ourselves at how we are lacking in knowledge of other peoples culture.
Bring Chevi back---PLEASE

It takes a lot to make me laugh and this one did it! He is so funny at being this clueless guy that it is just hilarious. You have to have a sense of humor to enjoy this film. If you are super conservative it may not be the comedy for you.
If you are looking to laugh for a while...then see this! I saw it TWICE in the theatre...
