Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Bolt to bestPosted: 2/25/2009A review of Bolt by astrowolf25 When I first went ot see the movie Bolt I only seen one commercial, I went to the theater and seen it. I give it s two thumbs up, 5 stars and a way to go! I've seen it twice and like it was said "better the second time" it was! My review is that I would think that the movie Bolt had a meaning that you cant be kept in a place for a long time but to be known by others by your actions not by fame, the love of others and the faith. Bolt realized this not just from Mittens, who taught him what it ment to be a real dog, but he learned the way of being a true dog. From New York where he met Mittens, Pennsylvania, where they met Rhino and across the USA. Along the trip was much danger and much confort of three friends making the trip of a lifetime! As Penny's agent replaced Bolt, he couldn't stop the real Bolt from coming home with help. In the end Bolt, Mittens, Rhino reclaimed all happiness and love of others... and themselves! The animation is nearly flawless and the sound design is crystal clear "Its Amazing!" The story-line is complete and keeps the viewer involved the whole way through and the humor is a combination of witty adult and childish. Also, the dialog is fitting for the story not over expository like most films and not understated like some. All-in-all it was a masterpiece and I advise all animation lovers to go and see it. Wasn't dumbed down and will keep the interest of adults and kids alike. We saw the 3-D version and not sure if it couldn't have been more enhanced, but it added a level of excitement that was still great. I also almost forgot my anger and resentment at Pixar for selling out to Disney. You'll especially love this if you're an animal person because we all envision our pets like these guys! He got some of the sequence of events right -- which, if you want to maintain the element of joy and discovery, don't read if you don't want almost full spoilers -- but he also got some of the events wrong. Like how Bolt ends up in Manhattan while Penny is in Hollywood.
This movie was a joy to watch, and funny. I thought that the repartee was clever, and that the humor that had been either lacking or predictable in the animated movies of the past few years, had come back with a creative surge in this film. It was a delightful growing-up story, with fun "wink-wink" nods to the current trends in action films that the audience will enjoy.

Bolt is a stunt dog who doesn't understand the difference between acting and real life. Along the way, he learns about friendship and finally realizes what he is supposed to do and where he needs to be. If you are an animal lover, then this show just may bring a tear to your eye. We had the choice to see Madagasacar or the sneak preview of Bolt. My 5 year old reminded us that we didn't like the 1st Madagasgar so Bolt it was. The 3-D effects definitely added to this movie but it was not even needed. Lots of fun, great characters (the hamster is hilarious), some exciting scenes and of course, a happy ending.
