Perhaps a bit silly at times, Blazing Saddles is completely redeemed by its social consciousness. Brooks does an amazing job of delving into race relations in the old west in his typical tongue in cheek over-the-top fashion which seeks to change hearts and minds by showing the sheer rediculousness of racism. Sign In 2 out of 2 users found this helpful Blazing SaddlesPosted: 3/27/2003A review of Blazing Saddles by MailableDock This is a great movie that probably could not be made today with all the social conciousness that is part of the American way of life these days.It contains some extremely funny stuff with all the stars getting an equal chance to have fun,usually at someone's expense.Don't miss the drunken gunfighter,MONGO,the school marm that can write letters with the best of them,the railroad workers and best of all,the Governor with his walk of the parapet followed by asking if you boys had a good nights rset.The ending is a lot of fun but I won't give it away here.An absolute must see!
