I think you should see this move - but if you don't want to, that's okay, but you don't know what you are missing!! If you already saw the movie before you would know that the bee got all B's on his report card. To them, they think that is good because to them B means A!! That was my favorite part and of course the movie as a whole was awesome. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1 out of 1 users found this helpful My 5 year old son said he liked the movie but he was sad because they killed Winnie the Pooh. I tried to tell him that they only shot him to make him sleep for awhile but he can not get over it unless he see's "Pooh get back up". He's asked me not to buy it when it comes out on DVD. No problem. Parents of young children, think twice about seeing this film if your children love Pooh bear. Was this review helpful? I had a chuckle here and a chuckle there, that was about it. My daughter (4) was dozing in & out through the whole thing. My "family" pick, for movies, is "Enchanted". That one is a must see. I was amused by it, my sister thought it was ok but, as others have said, my niece was quite bored. All in all, since we basically went to see this movie to entertain my 5 year old niece, mission was not accomplished. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful I enjoyed Bee movie. I mean, what’s not to like. Who can resist a story about a young bee, fresh out of school, thinking outside the hive and following his dreams? Along the way he meets people and discovers a plot (by humans of course!) to steal the bees livelihood. The film then reverts to that staple of comedy; the legal system where Barry trumps the opposition with a literal ‘smoking gun’ argument that liberates all beedom. Well, not quite. Sometimes winning is losing and losing is winning. Figure it out. In fact, the only way to save the earth will hinge on the bee’s innate ability to pollinate.
But let’s face it. Bee society wasn't that that way on Animal Planet. It’s not fun work, just work. And the phrase ‘busy as a bee’. That’ not just stereotype, it’s a way of life. What about those macho hard-working guy bees? They don’t exist. Everyone knows it’s the women bees who do the work. At least that’s one point I think most women can relate to. The drones are good for nothing (at least that can be presented in a kid’s movie). They’re the queen’s pampered boy toys. And once they’re work is done, they’re out of the hive for good to die. It doesn't get funnier than that.
And what’s with Blood. He’s a male mosquito. It's the women of the species who are out for blood. And Barry’s bee’s eye view of the town. More like a bee camera’s view. But honestly, 100 identical images from multifaceted eyes would just bug me. And would it have hurt to toss in few more in-jokes. like spelling bee winners, or bees named Frodo or Bilbo (sting) Or better ideas!
Let's face it. People and bees just don’t mix. Someone usually gets hurt and the other one dies. I was hoping to give this movie 4 stars but what did I expect? Think about the title. This is a B movie, simple on the storyline heavy on the special effects. But hey, some of my favorite movies are really dressed up B movies so I give it a ‘B’. Hopefully Seinfeld’s next film will feature superman. That should fly. Was this review helpful? There were a few funny parts but not many. I think the topic was allittle to old for the age it is adverising to. Id say its worth renting on dvd but not bying. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 11/14/2007A review of Bee Movie by gladwasntme1 My husband took my 4.5 yr old daughter to have a great night out to the movie she has been excited to see thanks to the advertising. After the movie, she said "It wasn't funny at all, but I kinda liked it, the popcorn and candy part!" My husband just shrugged when I asked him if it was good. The next day, my daughter starts crying when telling me about a part where they shoot & kill Winnie the Pooh. I tried to read reviews and see others opinions, but this I didn't expect. I just wish movies promoted towards children would think about maybe not killing their favorite characters for an adult chuckle. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Me and My husband took our 6 year old grandson to see this movie. We also wanted to see it. Not too many out there that are worth plunking down nearly a house payment to watch a movie with all the traditional snacks. We loved it from start to finish. And the one thing I really noticed was the movie didn't have to resort to farting, pooping or boogers to get a laugh out of the kids. As was the last garbage we went to about some forest animals trying to save themselves from (man). Absolutely discusting. This movie was simply funny. Even sticking a toothpick on the bee that used it's stinger so it didn't die. Okay, it's a cartoon, why not? It's supposed to be entertaining. The theater was packed with every age and there was constant laughing. Just a relax and enjoy a good laugh kind of movie. Was this review helpful? I get tired of people who feel like animation for kids should keep them ( the adults ) totally captivated the entire time...this movie had great computer graphics and moved quickly..the theater was packed and all of the kids were laughing and having a great time..and, unlike sick movies like monster house, I didn't have to worry about the garbage that some people think is ok for kids (of any age )to view. It wasn't finding Nemo or surfs up, but I will be buying it and we will watch it over and over as a family. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful I have to admit I wasn't expecting much when my two 7 year olds begged me to take them to see this movie, but I was pleasantly surprised. Sure it doesn't accurately depict life in a real bee colony, but was anyone really expecting that? We found it very funny and sweet and my children were entertained which is exactly what want from a kids movie. The minute we left the theater my children asked to see it again. They had great time. Its so funny, that no matter if people enjoyed or hated the movie they all feel the need to write these reviews with at least one BEE pun or other play on words. Was this review helpful? Sign In | ||
