He made me laugh. I'm gald he made a movie that was aimed towards kids but doesn't alienate adults. I took my nephew and we both laughed our butts off. Good for kids. Good for adults. Watch it! I think they had an ok story line which would probably reach a maximum of four stars but trying to make a comedy out of this movie saved it from being the worst movie in the world. I was grateful to be able to not have to reach across my 12 y/o eyes. The movie was fun, creative, emoting Sandlers charisma. The movie was predictable, but still enchanting. Keri Russel did a fab job too as a real person with wit and approachability. Russel and Sandler's relationship was not believable; not a lot of chemistry between them. However, the movie is about the stories. The ending was not a good message for kids on dealing with problem people. But overall it is a fun popcorn movie. Was this review helpful? This movie was a breath of fresh air.
It was good clean fun. There was nothing that I felt uncomfortable with my son watching at all!!! We went with my mom, my adolescent son and a 16 yr old. Everyone loved it and laughed out loud throughout the movie.
If you're tired of hunting for an appropriate family film, that is fun too then this is your stop!!
Sandler was his usual funny self minus all the pg-13 and r rated plot lines. Was this review helpful? It wasn't a BAD movie, but it's not one I would recommend you pay the theater prices in order to see it either. If you really want to see it, maybe because you're an Adam Sandler fan, then I would definitely wait for the dvd. There really are only a couple funny parts. I don't think the lack of entertainment is the fault of the actors, I just think the story was flat. Hopefully Adam Sandler will try his hand at another "decent" family movie again. Adam Sandler is his typically dry self....enough already! The jokes are flat and not funny at all (one or two exceptions). We enjoyed the show from beginning to end. I don't buy alot of movies I see but this one will definitely be added to my collection when it comes out on dvd so we can enjoy it again and again...Love the guinnie pig.

Well it all worked out pretty good. The movie is very compitent even though they got lazy with the ending. The kids laughed and had a good time but this will not be one they will remember beyond this week. I was able to sit through it with the family and enjoy myself. It is really two movies smashed together - One for the adults and one for the kids. I kept thinking the editors found a romantic comedy and a children's fantasy and decided to make a new movie by splicing the two together. Not to spoil the fun but yes Rob Schneider is in this one too. Thankfully his role is very brief. Was this review helpful? It was depicted as childish, imature and not funny. Gene Shallit (sp?)(ch4 am) couldn't have been more wrong. My 10, 12 and 15 year old plus my 43 year old daughter & myself laughted outloud from the minute it started.
