None of us liked it at all. Jack Black is usually funny, if a bit juvenille, but he had no laughs in this movie. I can easily say this was one of the worst movies I have ever spent money on. The plot is completely nonsensical and is so full of holes you'll want to shove bamboo reeds under your own fingernails. I think the cast was going for a feel-good sentiment, but the movie came off as cheesy and almost unwatchable. Don't waste your money; stay home and stare at free TV static. Was this review helpful? it offers kids something besides the usual onslaught of violence
i like the friendship of mos def and jack black characters

Sign In 0 out of 1 users found this helpful Very funny but ended with a cliff hangerPosted: 3/12/2008A review of Be Kind Rewind by xhollisterluv1045 this movie made me laugh with my friend till our stomach's hurt since the "schweded" films were funny! everyone in the theater was laughing. i wish i could give it 5 stars but the problem is the end ends with a whole bunch of people kinda clapping and standing around and then the credits appear. i left wanting to know what happened to the store. overall it was a funny movie that will leave my friend and I with many inside jokes. I watched this movie on Friday nite. The movie had a few chuckles, but all in all, a bad movie. Sadly, this movie will do well short term because of Jack Black, however, don't waste your money. The ending was awful. It just ended. No closure, no point, nothing. I would rather have stayed at home and plucked my own nose hairs than have watched this movie. Was this review helpful? We love Jack Black. But it bordered on ridiculous from the first scene and I find it hard to believe it made it into theatres at all. It was very amateurish, not funny, and I was actually embarrassed for Danny Glover, Sigourney Weaver, and Mia Farrow. Surely they are not that desperate for work? I suppose I can see what the director was shooting for with the story line but it just came across as something a high schooler might make for drama class. What a waste of time.
