And, I also got to see it on AMC a couple of nights ago. I remember how much I LOVED the original 1960s TV show reruns, and plus, this movie is the best Michael Keaton performance ever. Val Kilmer was also a great Batman, but it seemed as though he was bored with the performances in that movie. Now, everyone says that Christian Bale is the best Batman ever, and I'm not going to argue with that, because Michael Keaton had made this movie a great epic, because he IS Batman. I really think that George Clooney's Batman was a joke, but that is only an opinion. I would never buy that movie though. I would, however, buy the DVD for this movie, because it is the best one of the entire Batman epic. And, this ends my review for the first and original Batman epic. Peace easy, America. Keaton is a great batman, but Jack Nicholson steals the show as the joker. Just a great movie! Was this review helpful? I almost fell asleep and I think that Michael Keaton was slightly dull with the acting. I extremely enjoyed Jack Nicholsons character, however. Very well done Jack!! Was this review helpful? Sign In 1 out of 3 users found this helpful Batman, this film is one of the best drama/action films of all time. Some may disagree and some may agree. With this amazing film, Directed by the Wizard of imagination filmaking TIM BURTON, this film takes you into the deep setting of this dark city: Gotham City. The story is set up very well with few twists in the story and the close relatinships between the three leading chracters in the film. With Jack Nicholson as the sly but sensual Joker,Kim Basinger as the lovely heartwarming photojournalist Vicki Vale, and Michale Keaton as the dark but yet billion dollar Gotham City bachelor: Bruce Wayne/BATMAN....
So in the end, the film ends with a good note and you end the movie speechless........ Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful "I'm Batman" And yes he was. Michael Keaton is the best dark knight ever! This film is by far the greatest comic book film, even beating out the films SPIDER-MAN and BATMAN RETURNS. Jack Nicholsons Joker, like most of Nicholsons performances, was oscar worthy! Keaton played a great dark 'dark knight'. From the beginnning with Danny Elfmas wonderful score to the final confrontation on the cathedral, this is probably the best Tim films as well. I highly reccomend it to any fan or moviegoer! If you like this go rent BATMAN RETURNS with Danny DeVito and Chris Walken and BATMAN FOREVER with Jim Carrey and Val Kilmer. Skip Clooneys BATMAN AND ROBIN. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Keaton is good as Batman and will always be the best batman but Nicholson is the greatest joker anyone could have picked he has a creepy smile and is a veteran actor batman was good nicholson was great Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 2 users found this helpful Where can I begin to tell you about how badly this movie was slapped together? Michael Keaton as Batman? Alfred the butler letting folks into the Batcave willy nilly? Or maybe I should just start with the re-writing of a classic literary character.

Batman(the movie)was filled with action, trash talking during fight scenes, and more testosterone than a night out at the local biker bar. This in and of itself is what made the money for the movie. The money came from the "action film crowd."

Michael Keaton was the worst possible choice for Batman, despite the fact that he looked like Batman in the costume. But then again, who wouldn't in that costume, when your musculature is built into the suit. Keaton(as Bruce Wayne) surely didn't look like he had spent years honing his body for combat.

Throwing into the story that it was the Joker that killed Batman's parents was an attempt to tie it all together for the "action crowd" (people that couldn't pin the tail on the donkey with the blindfold off). It re-wrote Batman's origin right there. Joey Chill killed Thomas and Martha Wayne people, not Jack Napier.

This and many other little things killed this movie about a literary character than has almost as much history as Tom Saywer(anybody notice that the man who would be Two-Face was played by a black man? With respect to Billy Dee Williams, Harvey Dent is white).

All in all if you are looking for an action film, any action film will do. If you are looking for a comic book hero movie, rent Superman.
Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Takes the C Reeves "Superman" movies to the next level! Jack is GREAT!! Wish he didn't die, a sequel with the Joker would be just as good. Keep the super heros coming to the big screen! Was this review helpful? Tim Burton is genius for creating this extraordinary film with the hot chick whos in 8 mile(Kim Basinger). Chevelle is a cool band. I like the song ";The Red"; by Chevelle. Chevelle is like Batman only Chevelle sings ";The Red";. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful This started it all, michael Keaton was a duel cast batman, the only one playing in more than 1 of the batman movies. (dave i believe he was the best batman) One part that i truely enjoyed was whom they casted to play the villian, the joker. He was none other than Jack Nicholson, he always portrays evil characters and he does it well, some time's he does it to well. and he scares me.(dave, i cowrote only the part that has my name in parenthesies, rest was hope) Was this review helpful? He is just like a cop but doesnt use there items and fight w/ his hands! Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 2 users found this helpful Posted: 11/30/2002A review of Batman by DSHammoulton88 Batman is no doute the best super hero movie ever. With a solid story plot and awsome acting and dazzilling fight sceans only a geniuse like Tim Burton and WB could bring to life. Not to menchion the moving score that is a must buy on sound track. Like spider man the batman movie is about the first battle between the joker but is less boring than spiderman.Pearsonal note.... if you want to hear my other oppinions check out spiderman Dog solders Clue and the Flinstones. Keep in touch. Was this review helpful? Sign In | ||
