One character made it very hard to get into this movie, every time he or it appeared I completely lost track of what was going on in that scene. If that black crap in its mouth wasnt oozing so much maybe I could have gotten past the penguins grossness. take away the black tar oozing, and it goes from 3 to 4 stars.

Pro -The story is original and excellent. -The acting is excellent. -Penguin is (freaky but) excellent. -The ending is great... Con -...but the first film has the greatest finale. Overall Personally, this is my favorite of the four Batman films (I exclude Batman Begins, as that clearly runs a different vibe than these four). Tim Burton uses his imagination for every character in the story (especially Penguin and Catwoman). The ending sequences wraps the story greatly and the acting is top-notch. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS FILM TO CHILDREN as this is the darkest of the Batman Quatrilogy. However, teens and adults will find this movie exciting and humorous!

Although this film was even darker than its predecessor, it was still well done. Danny DeVito filled his role as the Penguin well, and Michelle Pfeiffer performed Catwoman superbly. Christopher Walken was also brilliant as the twisted Max Shreck. This movie is not for children even though its a comicbook hero.

The visuals scream German Expressionism, the characters are well layered, and the third act generates a kind of visceral excitement that was lacking in later installments.

Each villain mirrors a quality of Bruce Wayne, and it's in his intereactions with each face: The businessman (Max Shreck), The Man-Animal with Parental Dispondant Issues (Penguin)), and the Leather Clad vigilante(Catwoman), that we truly understand who Bruce Wayne/Batman is. We clearly see the psychological, as well as physical, challenges that he must face to not fall into the void and become on of them.

If the film deviates from the narrative of the comics, it is not a problem, as it truly captures the source material's THEMES in a way that not even the animated series could. It is an absolute triumph.

This movie is not a very good movie. It has no moral and what is up with Catwoman? There is more action than talking which is stupid.

Michelle Pfeiffer is HOT! And that costume......!Anyway, more great super hero stuff. Good to see a mix of villains to keep the movie fresh. I love how the Batman movies give a good account of how the villains became who they are. Almost gives a "documentary" feel to the movie; and for those exploring the genre for the first time, gets them up-to-speed on the storyline/history of the comicbook characters.

Michelle Pfiffer delivers a marvelous performance. She shows the darker side of the human soul with a touch of sexy eccentricity.

Although great images in the move remind me of the Frank miller classic, ";dark knight returns";What really struck me was the great music in this film. As you may or may not know The first movie was all about Prince. And every other there after featured what ever popband was in style.(forgive me U2) But this movie was all great compishions, and one fab song but the little known band Souxie & the banshees. And a nice tune at that.

Incredible movie. You have Tim Burton's ever perfect vision orchestrated by Danny Elfman's haunting magic to create the ultimate Batman experience. Batman is perfectly portrayed as the Dark Knight that he is (Michael Keaton IS Bruce Wayne/Batman) and Catwoman expresses the true emotional turmoil of her character (Michelle Pfeffer IS Selina Kyle/Catwoman). AND WHAT INCREDIBLE COSTUMES! Danny DeVito and Christopher Walken are incredible nemeses. And if you haven't heard it yet, it's a divine song that any fan of this movie must get to fully experience - Siouxsie and the Banshees ";Face To Face"; (you hear a glimpse at the Masquerade Ball as Selina and Bruce are dancing). It's a hauntingly beautiful journey into Selina Kyle/Catwoman's mind. A must hear, and the movie and must see!

This movie is the best movie ever. I especially liked the way Tim Burton made the film so dark and gothic, this should have been nominated for 14 academy awards like Titanic was. Titanic wasn't very good, but this was...very very good. Best Picture would be the right award for this movie.

This movie kicked ass :)Batman is my favorite super herobatman=>;supermansuperman=<;b atman' sbutlerThis movie brilliantly depicts the struggle of us all in relation to our outlook upon the world and how we must coexist in it. I believe the directors vision in creating this piece was that of supreme rapture. Nothing i can think of comes close to this movie, when your dealing with these type of movies. This genre is dominated by Batman movies and it will forever more.ps. Spiderman blows

This remains Burton's hidden masterpiece.. it is a brilliant work of art that perfectly captures the darkness and depression of Batman, Gotham City, and all of its inhabitants... This film remains one of my favorite of all time.
