Stone pulled off the part well and Morrissey was excellent. The idea of respecting him less because is a TV actor and not a ''name'' actor is at best small mindedness and at worst critical snobbery, the acting in the film can't be faulted!
Sadly though I must admit the plot was somewhat OTT, the number of affairs stone's character was having begged the question how she found time to murder anyone! The evidence was there to do her for any one of the killings! Then there is the question of how Morrissey came to find out where she lived when he was unable to contact her before. Add to this the sheer weight of killings got a bit absurd and the unrealistic interconnectedness of all the characters was ridiculous. Was this review helpful? Its now that people will realise Sharon Stone needs a strong leading man for her talent to show. Micheal Douglas was underated in the first but i believe it was his strong perfomance that allowed sharon shine. This film was pathetic. Nothing like the first. I felt like walking out from the first leap the two Moleholes made over the bridge. I couldnt even feel sorry for anyone so stupid to risk their lives over a fake orgasm going 100 miles over a busy City of London bridge. What a couple of Moleholes!!
Then there was no real plot to follow the opening. So bored and disgusted after the woman who died with a writhing slit throat, - I walked out. Too much vulgarity instead of sexuality. Too many designer clothes. Not enough character development. Story line and plot were cool and tense. Unlike so many of the other reviewers, I loved leading man Morrissey, although he did have to grow on me. I think he salvaged this movie. And for all those fat-assed Olsen twins-Paris Hilton fans out there that want Sharon Stone to retire from being a femme fatale just because shes 50, Ive got news, she will be a femme fatale at 100! I am a fan of the first one, but this one didnt even compare. The plot was hard to follow and choppy. I think the point of this movie was to be more vulgar than anything. BAD...BAD...idea to bring this out for a sequel. For me it lands in the catigory low buget B movies with aging porn stars trying to go mainstream. My feeling is wait for rental to see it, it will be out of theatres quickly.
