Date ![]() Helpful Rating 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Amelie is a really great movie but, I was somewhat disappointed. Don't get me wrong I loved it, but I expected better because most critics had positive things to say about the film. Amelie has a lot going for it though, Audrey Tautou gave an amazing performance, and I love the music. Even though I said the film was disappointing, It is still a wonderful movie, and one of my favorites! Was this review helpful? His imagination(not only with amelie) is not far from my own. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 6/6/2004A review of Amélie by Blondie827 I LOVED this movie. Very deep, artistic, fun, and full of heart. I love Amelie's character -- how she tells the mean produce guy off by telling him "even artichokes have hearts", how she becomes a regular do-gooder and helps people, and in the process comes to realize the importance of her own happiness to help herself find love. I love the imagination in the film -- Wow! I also love how this film really gets into who Amelie' is as a person. Definitely worth seeing, heck, BUY the DVD ALREADY! This movie is a work of art in itself and one of my favorite films. Was this review helpful? I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. It is a hard movie to describe. All I know is I haven't had a movie hold my attention like that for quite a while. Highly recommended. Amelie is a great character, very well-developed in every aspect. I highly recommend this film to anyone wth a slightly askew view of life Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Jean-Pierre Jeunet did a fantastic job here. Audrey Tautou is cast perfectly. All unknown actors (outside of France) and subtitles may put you off, but make no mistake - this is a truly great movie. Was this review helpful? I usually hate subtitles, but it almost amplified the true fabric of this movie. This movie made me feel optimistic. It was an enjoyable experience. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 2/24/2003A review of Amélie by kalimerahara Audrey Tautou was perfectly cast as Amelie - unintimidatingly pretty, quirky without being bizarre. The film itself is similar - pretty, but not the glossy-slick of Hollywood, and with a few eye-catching tricks that manage not to be gimmicky. Although it's hard to imagine Ms. Tautou in other roles, her ability to break Amelie typecasting will define her future career. Was this review helpful? Sign In | ||
