Date  Helpful Rating 0 out of 0 users found this helpful  ok movie not worth rentingPosted: 5/19/2007A review of Alpha Dog by JCaldwell704 Alpha dog was a ok movie......the movie just makes u wonder how can stupid rich kids get sooo stupid and have it soooo nice and still mess up.........I did like it when the movie was counting down all the witness they passed by.....the storie was ok it drags abit.......i had to stop watching it three times because i did get tired of it for abit......all in all the movie is not worth renting or buying, but def worth watching it on cable tv...... i couldnt sit and watch the movie over and over again............but i could did finish it and thats why i gave it 2 star.........just my opinion more reviews comming. Justin Timberlake really disappointed me..no matter how cute he is and no matter how obessed I am. I wasnt feeling his role. It didnt seem like he was acting..just talking. Nothing behind it..you know. And then at first the plot only seems to be about white kids and how they always get high and get drunk and have sex..and I kept wondering what does that have to do with the kidnapping of the boy? The ending was way out of left feild..I mean come on...are you serious? They was just smoking weed with the lil boy! And then some of the scenes just seem a little random..the figthing scene in the bathroom, true love and his gilrfriend sex scence..just little stuff threw this movie off track. And some of the lines were like wtf?! There were parts I just didnt believe it. Was this review helpful? A 15 year old boy is kidnapped by the drug dealers of which his brother owes money to. Frankie (Justin Timberlake) is supposed to watch this kid and Frankie ends up liking this kid. Smokes some weed with him and has beers with him. Frankie and Zach were getting tight in the movie. Friends, homies, whatever you wanna call it. The parents of Zach are frantically looking for their son. To me, this movie towards the end was a tearjerker (Im a girl so of course it was to me) When they are tying up Zach, you can see Frankies tears cuz he doesnt want to do this to Zach. Justin Timberlake I swear to God, I forgot he was even a singer. Forgot he was in the boyband NSYNC and the singer of BRINGIN SEXY BACK. His role wasnt of playing a touch guy..........He was playing an emotional guy who became friends with a kid he didnt even think he was going to like. I cried soooooo hard and to know that this was based upon a true story............ Thats what makes it worse. This kid thought these people were his friends and look what they did to him. But his role was to act tough not be tough. He was able to pull it off. Frankie was no tough guy either because he didnt have it. He was no natural born killer, he just was hooked up through his Dad. It was all in illusion they were living pretending to be in a rap video and they realized that their world was false as all the stuff rappers sing about. They wanted it to be real . The film reminded me of Less Than Zer0 , the sadness that comes with wasted youth and abandoned dreams and selling out to the wrong cause. I grew up in Pico- Union with Calle Criminal down the block...when you see hardness and no conscience face you often, you never forget that look. The movie was tragic in that you almost felt sorry for everyone. You felt bad that no one in their lives taught them that life is precious. Interesting that the few times God was mentioned in this movie his name was taken in vain. When you dont believe in anything, you will probably Fall for anything. Was this review helpful? This is probably one of the worst films Ive seen for a while. Pretty much everything was wrong with it from the acting to the plot to the editing. First of all, Justin Timberlake was such an unbelievable character- not in a good way. I had to restrain myself from laughing the entire time he was on the screen. I just didnt buy it. Emile Hirsch (Johnny) was such a (@! At no time during the film did I ever believe that he was the ring leader of a drug circle. So much of it was absolutely unnecessary and contributed to the plot in no way, i.e. Ben Fosters (Jakes) kung-fu scene. There was nothing that led up to it, or followed up on it- it was pretty much just thrown in there. Then the whole split-screen crap... did anyone actually buy that this was an artsy film??? No! That effect had no place in this film, it just made it more unfocused. Honestly, I dont have a problem with drug content, nudity, or language in a film- those arent my concerns at all. My issue is that the film was honestly just all-around bad! I knew that after 3 minutes into the film that I would be beating my head on the seat in front of me because of the stupidity. Please please please dont waste your time or money seeing this film! Go rent Little Miss Sunshine instead! Was this review helpful? I have been following this case and the movie is pretty accurate to what i have seen and read. Justin Timberlake was amazing it goes to show that not only can he sing but he is also a good actor. All the characters were very good. Ben Foster was my favorite. He was so into character. He is awesome. So i recommend this movie to all adults. Kids should really stay home. Anyone 15 and over should enjoy it. Too much sex and drugs for anyone younger. Was this review helpful? But then takes a turn, i found this movie very intersting, and shows a sad side of what can happen when people dont think everything out.
