It has a very good message which most movies these days don't have. I like the ending and wish more movies would end this way. Life isn't just all about getting a man.

It was funny all the way through and didn't have any dull or dead spots. We would love to see it again when it is released to DVD. We loved it and suggest you go see it. Yes, there were some moments when I laughed - everytime the Thomas Haden Church delivered the news - whenever Ken Jeong stole the scene - the three-legged doll baby (a.k.a. their portrayal of the media). But those moments are few and far between. And yes, Bradley Cooper is nice to look at. For the most part, I thought it kinda dragged, the plot had a lot of holes in it, and the ending was completely lackluster. The boots...oh, those darned red boots that took up more screen time than actual characters in the movie. The vigil towards the end of the movie was so hokey. And that was Mary's happy ending? Seriously??
DJ Qualls and Katy Mixon as Howard and Elizabeth (stereotypical weird guy - I mean what was the deal with the apple heads??? - and the naive (?) southern belle) were somewhat pointless in the story. I thought Sandra Bullock's Mary Horowitz was too over-the-top...as a "cruciverbalist" she was a font of information, but she was completely clueless as to how she was being perceived....she tended to be annoying and she did seem like a psycho stalker. The poor hearing-impaired little girl in the well had it right - Mary did talk too much and she couldn't even hear a word Mary was saying! Bradley Cooper didn't contribute much to the story, which makes me wonder why it was even "all about Steve". He was not just an jerk - he was an uninteresting one.
My recommendation - wait until they show it on Starz - and only if you have absolutely nothing better to do. Was this review helpful? I have seen some bad movies too. I am not exaggerating. There really is no plot. Super annoying girl gets set up on a blind date with super-perfect guy (why did he need a blind date?), annoys him until he makes her leave, she stalks him the rest of the movie, without them ever actually falling in love. Calling this a romantic comedy is a crime, because it contains no romantic parts nor funny parts. Punchlines are humorless and overemphasized. I couldn't figure out whether the ending was supposed to be dramatic or humorous, but it wasn't either one. Do not see the movie. I honestly do not know how anyone would like it. Sandra Bullock's character annoys not only Bradley Cooper's character, but the audience; and Bradley Cooper is really only funny when interacting with other funny actors (Hangover). Stay at home. Look at your wall for 2 hours. It will be much more fun and will save you $7. Was this review helpful? They seem to care just about lets have more nasty language. Maybe some of us are sick of all the nasty language and gore and we want some movies we can watch without wanting to vomit.
