I've watched it countless times, tirelessly. An intriguing storyline, interesting characters, sharp writing and acting at its best, makes this a movie for all times!You become engrossed with the characters and the storyline right from the beginning due to great acting and an even better script. Sign In 2 out of 2 users found this helpful  The Eve of DavisPosted: 2/18/2003A review of All About Eve by lowellv70 Classic piece that brought immortal status to the performance of Bette Davis. Reknowned stage actress Margot Channing has attracted what can only be considered a ";fan";, a soft spoken girl by name of Eve Harrington who apparently worships every move she makes. Stunned, Margot decides to ";adopt"; her as a personal assistant. But Eve ensconces herself into all facets of Margot's life to the point where Margot is being meddled and manipulated ultimately wangling Eve a much coveted opportunity to play her own roles being goaded on by critic- protagonist Addison DeWitt who lives for the odd quirks of the artistic elite until Margot is forced into a struggle for her own well being. It is solely the opinion of the Author (and by no means a proveable fact) that crafty 'ol Mankiewicz crafted this title in the second person. Instead of this being a story ABOUT Eve, it seems more to be a tale as seen by everyone in her orbital sphere telling more the story of ALL who were ";about"; her. Either way, it is a tour-de-force for both Baxter and Davis and probably a career high for George Sanders and a wonderfully verbose Thelma Ritter who darn near steals thefilm from the leads whenever she appears.
