You had to use your imagination a little in the original Alien - face hugger to full grown Alien in 24 hours, but, in the last two movies, 24 minutes? My son and I refer to this Alien as Cup-o-Alien or Ramen Alien. Just add boiling water. Come on hollywood, you are almost there. S t r e t c h the timeline a little. Keep trying. We love our Aliens. If ya like these types of movies you're goin to love this one. All ya have to do is ignore the humans in the movie. Ignore their cheesey dialog and even cheeseier acting, and it's golden. The last fight scene is fricken awesome! I really enjoyed myself. I even laughed, mostly at the silly humans, especially when one said, "the government doesn't lie to us" *falls on the floor laughing*. Anyway, I highly recommend this movie!

I can't understand how writers could have such a gem as the idea of Alien vs. Predator and still do such a terrible job. It was boring. It was dark and you couldn't see half of what was going on. There were so many opportunities to throw in little "ha ha's" here or there like "Game Over, Man!" or "You are one ugly M***** F*****!" - but they didn't. Well, ok, they did one - one of the characters' name was Dallas. Whoopie! Well, I guess I look at it like month old milk - I knew it was going to be bad, but I just had to smell it! It failed to create that stomach knotting anticipation feeling, and was riddled with unexpected killings.
This was MUCH better than the first AVP but it needed to be more subtle, more of a horror movie like the original Alien.
It could've easily been longer.
The movie has plenty of action, more than enough, but it only supplies the direct excitement, where as a horror movie should have the anticipation excitement.

A whole ton of time is wasted on pointless teen dialogue, which has absolutely nothing to do with the alien vs. predator conflict (or the rest of the movie). The action is great once they finally get to it. I'm just hoping they get rid of the stupid teenager storyline (or maybe get rid of the humans all together) for the third film, and hire some Sci-Fi directors who really know what they're doing because they're dragging the AVP series into a bottomless pit. I read the bad reviews ,but went to the movie anyway.This movie was non-stop entertainment from begining to end.It differs from the first AVP movie but that was a plus.The sci-fi techo stuff was also OK. If you are a TRUE fan of the Alien or Predator series then you will know the back story of the species that are battling for survival in this film. To those of you who have seen it, how many actually payed enough attention during the Alien movies to know who the chick was at the end?
A few well placed lines from the previous movies, "Get to the Chopper" not far off from Arnold's historical line from predator, but none the less well played. There were some dark scenes yes BUT this is an alien movie, not that predator wasn't dark it just had more color!
They did stick well to the movie cliches that most everyone knows that watches any movie,
1. The black dude always dies first. Well maybe not the very first but out of the teenagers
2. The less clothing the better the movie. Only true for about a min and then it's killing time. Hey atleast she's hot!
3. Monsters are always bad ass and they never die the first time they get shot! If you shoot it with a plasma cannon and it doesn't die run away or shoot it again!
and finally but one of the most important:
4. There is always and i repeat ALWAYS some kind of government organization or High level CEO}Exec. who is willing to put human life at risk for BIGGER guns or Better Technology!
With all those out of the way, there is only one thing to say. If you are a fan then go and see this movie. It kicks ass! It's LOADS better than the first AVP.
Oh and there is not a gay ass scene where a predator gives the human girl a stick with an alien's tail attached and an alien head for a shield and they TROT merrilly down a hallway to go kick the big bad alien's ass! I walked into the movies thinking that this movie was going to be the worst movie I have ever seen. My 12 year old son forced me to see it. The night before I saw A.V.P.R I saw A.V.P. The first one was pretty good. I thought it would stink. I was now looking forward to seeing the new one. About 30 minutes in to this one I thought it was O.K. and that the starting was better than the first one. The blood level is really high and has some gore in it and would not reccomened it to kids 13 and under. But if you are into all this blood guts and violence, this movie will be awsome. My son could not stop talking about this movie! Some parts in this movie I did not like at all. I did not get the ending and why did the goverment bomb the town at the ending. The goverment stinks! Ha ha. But who was the woman at the ending of the movie when the goverment official went into her office showing her the gun the Predator used?!? But all I know is that the Predator race is wiped out and no more movies like this one will come out.

AVPR ranks for me as well just below Predator 1 and the first 2 aliens. AVPR is much better than AVP. I really really liked how they brought back some music from Predator 1, the transitions between scenes was great, really helped the suspense and mood of the movie. There are some plugs to the original movies (names, and one-liners), they're cheesy but fun.
The story of AVPR is great from the Predator's perspective as to why he's there. The humans are there just so there's some talking between action scenes. They're quite useless. I felt the movie was a bit short, but that means I wanted more, which is a good thing.

(for the fat housewives and kids) this movie was an improvement. yeah of course the teenage character parts in this movie were dumb ...they always are dumb, but i loved seeing them get killed. This movie was no" Father of the bride" so if your a guy (17-45) looking for plot, a love story and an ending like "beeches. ...well better check under your belly cause you got no b#lls. This last 40 min. of this movie was all killing, action, horror, the way sci-fi horrors should be. As for that nice refreshing happy go lucky, great -to-be-me ending people want ... well forget it. this is a horror movie. I hate pg-13 movies sometimes. I know the studios was it for capitol gains .. but for the movie going public. That means the chances are people will come in there bringing there stupid kid to kick on the back of your seat orthe idiot that brought there baby that cries.
