I will say that fact had a lot to do with how much I loved the movie. I only wish Kubrick had been alive to make and finish it. It is still a masterpiece of movie-making in my estimation, however. Started ok, then somewhere along the way, turned into Pinoccio 2001.
I was thinking "Alright, cute, he wants to find the fairy. But he'll realise he can't soon, right? It can't last the whole movie..." Wrong.
David wasn't cute. He was pyschopathic and creepy. Who smashes the head off someone just cause they look the same and have the same name as you?
And the ending? I was confused when I thought it ended in the Ocean, but willing to accept it. When it started with Aliens and Ice Ages, I was willing to kill myself.
The Best Actor? Teddy! Without a doubt. 5 stars for Teddy, woo you rule! Was this review helpful? Note: Almost, movies usually don't make me cry. I think it was very well made, and great acting! Was this review helpful? I was lucky enough to see this movie for free and not have to pay to see it in theatres, but for the poor souls who did, I am terribly sorry for you. If there was an option for giving this thing negative numbers, believe me I would. It starts off mildly entertainging and than develops into things chasing robots on motorcycles?!?!?!?! I never knew this was a power rangers episode, but that's besides the point. This movie is just awful, and the guy who wrote this must have been pulling a tedious prank on the world by making us all sit threw this pointless and terrible movie! The end is so terrible and depressing, I mean maybe after sitting here for two hours we may want to have our spirits lifted wth an inspirational ending, but instead we are inspired only to kill the guy responsible for making this piece of crap! This just goes to show that Holly wood has no care for the life of innocent people. As long as it makes money they will make the most terrible movies that can be made! And just on a side note WHAT THE HEL IS WITH THE ALIENS!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Was this review helpful? Hope it doesn't really get like this. Was this review helpful? Usually sci-fi are films that deal with mind blowing visual stuff or films that deal with ideas of the future.this film offers those things and more.but it's a fact that u won't see this film in everyone's top favorite list. because the director does so many expiremental things. to really appreciate this movie u have to watch more than once. Is it becasue Steven Spielberg directed it? And becasue he did does that mean this movie "must" win an award? How can people rate this movie more then one star??? Come on people, get real! This movie was crap, a robot that can talk and he has a teddybear and he meets a robot jiggalo and then tries to find a blue fairy to make him a real boy, such crap! I was dissapointed by the movie ,the acting, the director, but most of all the idiot who decided to give this movie awards. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 4/26/2003A review of A.I.: Artificial Intelligence by Anonymous This is definitely being added to the top 10 Worst movies I have ever seen. There is nothing original about the entire story. It is a hodge-podge of plagiarism drawing from numerous sci-fi and fairy tales. To name a few: Pinocchio, Alice in Wonderland, Robot Dreams, What makes this terribly bad is that these sources don't even seem to be disguised at all. It is like there is a blatant reference to all the original stories. The characters are extremely un-captivating, which leaves you with sense of not identifying with nor caring about their plight. But wait, it gets worse the lighting throughout the film is terrible. What should be lit isn’t and what should be dark is lit. It seems like the back ground was more important that the actors. I guess it was to draw the viewer’s attention away from the thin story line. I found myself just wanting the main character, David, just to die, or better yet rust away.Do yourself a favor, and save your money for something else Was this review helpful? Immediately the boy has this special glow,a special aura around him. I prefer Pinnochio. Was this review helpful? Sign In | ||
