I auditioned and was lucky enough to be one of four boys featured in Swanee the Born in a Trunk #. I was also in the Long Face #, and I want to tell all Judy was a delight to work with and I have a most beautiful autographed picture from her to me with her love.......which I treasure. I also would like to mention that Liza performed to her mothers soundtrack during a break for the cast and was a living minature of her mother..A star was truly born at that moment...it gives me goose bumps to think about it...........by the way Richard Barstow staged the musical numbers.......Donald Sky

Picture this, lovely young girl sings with a swing band and is interrupted by a very drunk famous actor who she then falls in love with and who helps her live out her dream of becoming a star. This simple, yet complex story is the makings of one of Judy Garland's best movies. Her acting is superb and her voice is even better. She brings down the house with her signature version of the song, ";The Man That Got Away."; Although the movie seems a little long, it is really worth your time and certainly a memorable experience. I give 3 cheers to Judy on a job very well done!
