I used to think all movies (horror ecspecially) from the 1980's were lame and had terrible special effects, but after watchiing this movie (and "Poltergiest"), I've found that movies of the 80's had effect justas good, or better, than what we have today. I know I was impressed in this movie first, when Nancey was sleeping in Tina's bed and the shape out of the wall, and after Glenn is killed and blood is flying everywhere from the bed. I am not a big fan of Jonny Depp's most recent work, but I liked him in this film. Another thing I've came to find I love about this film is how in away, it's both a psycolgical and slasher thiller. The psycological part is how people thought of sleep after seeing Nightmere, that could really mess with your head. And the slasher part is obvious as Freddy Kruger (Robert Englund) has knive for fingers. For those of you who went to see "Freddy vs. Jason" But did not watch the orgianal Nightmere, go to your local Blockbuster, Moviegallerie ect. and RENT IT! All actors give dassleing preformancesa nd if you liked Wes Craven's direction in SCREAM, You'll like this movie to. DON'T FALL ASLEEP!

I don't care for the freddy movies. He did a good job on the first film, but there are too many of them. I lost count of them, that's how you know that there is to many of them. When you are dead you do not come back as anything but a sprit. So why do he keep coming back. I hope Jason vs Freddy is the last movie. If they bring out another one I hope Freddy get beat up, he deserves it, he keeps coming out of his grave. He should be dead and stay dead, no one could come back from the dead except Jesus Christ. If Freddy keeps killing eveyone in the movie there won't be a living soul on earth. I know the man thats playing this role is not ugly, but Freddy is and he needs to change his shirt and hat,he can't dress himself. The clothes have to go please. I am also tired on the Friday the 13 movies. There are too many of them also. Jason looks like a robot except the last two movies, he does look human, because of the height differences. The first movie he looked 9Feet tall, but the last movies helooks 6'8" or 7 feet tall. Don't make any of these movies they are dead and should stay dead.Retire them please.

Johnny Depp played a great role in Nightmare on Elm Street support of the main actor too. The only thing I didn't like about the movie is when Freddy cut you up and all that bleed flew up I really couldn't see a fine man like Johnny Depp die like that; but overall the movie was great.

Thank You,
Melissa Haynes

This was one pretty kick ass flick!Wes Craven really out did himself in this horrific movie.I especially love the scene were Tina gets done having sex with Ron and they fall asleep together and then Tina is @#%*ed into Freddy's terror dream world. Then Tina tries to run away or wake up but grabs her in mid air and starts slashing her rapidly and in the real world Ron is watching his girlfrieng being on the ceilingwith amounts of blood all over the placeNice gore and special FX.Go see it!!

Any kid growing up in the 80s, like myself, remembers this film fondly (or maybe not so fondly). I had seen this film for the first time when I was about twelve years old, and for the proceeding few nights, I did not want to go to sleep.
Fortunately, I did manage to sleep after the intial shock wore off (and we have to remember that at that time, and especially to a child, a film such as this was indeed scary).
Years later, I am still influenced by Craven's insight into the realm of the subconscious, i.e. how important it is to fight off our personal demons that become manifest in our dreams. Once we conquer these demons, the road to healing our psyches becomes paved, we emerge with valuable lessons to apply to our waking lives, and we then become true survivors of the human experience.

Close your eyes and plug your ears during the edge of your seat scenes in this movie. It scared the color out of my flesh watching this in the theater. This wasn't the typical "bad guy on the run" film. It really was a "Nightmare" come to life movie. I'd definitely see it again in the theater. Too bad it wasn't made in 3D!

Hey now it`s trish3119 and I`m here to give you the juice. Ok A Nightmare On Elm Street, when this movie came out I was just a kid. I remember "Freddy" being the most scariest S.O.B. in films when I was a kid. I also remember I just had to watch the nightmare movies even though they would keep me up for weeks. Freddy was a cult classic in the 80`s and early 90`s. I love Freedy movies. I mean it`s the stuff you grew up being afraid of you know. Now when I watch them I just laugh..because the stuff that goes on is still scary but it also has that sick freddy humor in it at the same time. The Freddy movies are true legends in horror flicks. I`m sure Freddy will be able to creep out and keep my kids up at night one day. Lets face it the Nightmare on Elm Street movies will always be around and stand out as real true movie making.

trish3119.....peace

Being fresh out of high school myself and having gone through the movie Halloween, I remember sitting on the edge of my seat sayin out loud "Oh my god....I cant believe it....they actually crossed the line" It was the most frightning thing I'd ever seen.
