kubrick is great.although burgess book was far more superior. the movie was a real horrorshow. and even though our droog alex broke all of your gods ten commandments, at least he was not a conforming robot like the rest of our starry christian brothers. i dont think the movie or the book was about violence(although that was a plus). in the end its about the choices that you make. can you call yourself living if you deny yourself what you want? well at least thats what i think. as our droog alex might say..oh how i would like to viddy all ye razrez and nagoy, flowing with red krovvy. ....................................... ......... ....................................... .......

Ok as a Christian I will admit on a moral level there are alot of good reasons not to watch this. So, I do respect what the concerned christian woman has to say. That being said, I don't like to just trash a movie just cause there alot of sin in it. As a person with a major interest in psychology I would argue Mr Kubrick made a good point that a person who does not want to change is very unlikely to stay "changed". While this type of conditioning is very effective on the short term it does not work on the long term. While he does not give an answer on how to reform the main character, he does argue that this type of conditioning, which at one time was very popular, doesn't work. If you are looking for a movie to discuss psychology and criminal justice with your friends, and you can look past the objectionible material, this might be a decent movie to watch. If you have a problem with watching movies that "appear" to be glorifying poor morals than you probably want to skip this one.

I read this book before i viewed the movie and the lateral thinking brought in the book is only magnitized by seeing it on the screen. People may say that i dont know what the hell i am talking about because I am only 16 years old but i dont know this is the first film to ever make me think in such a matter. I absolutly loved its head case manner and never ending humor and suspense. The music also adds a dynamic unparralled since 1971.

What is not to say about this movie? Ive heard from the good and the bad. Being a younger woman, I must say I absolutly love this film. Mind you, Yes the book is much better (It plans out Alexs life much better) But to see it on film. To see all of the worlds crims agaisnt this poor boy, just wonderful. Im considered by my peers a junkie (Sadly). But I guess it might be true. One of the best films ever made, I must say.

This movie was an absolute masterpiece, Kubrick is a genious. The thing that disturbed me doring the movie was not the rape or violence, but the fact that Kubrick got me to actualy like Alex in the end. By having Alex refer to us as his only friend and "droog" you felt that he was not all that bad. Even though Kubrick forgot to includ the real book ending with Alex just growing out of the "Ultraviolence" stage the movie was really faithful towards the book.

Oh my brothers, where do you begin with Kubrick's dystopian masterpiece? The set design, acting, editing, direction and soundtrack are all absolutely top-notch, and you'd never think this film was actually made on a (comparitively) tight budget. Malcolm McDowell's smirking young thug Alex is the perfect anti-hero, a swaggering sadist who loves life and enjoys it to the full, before receiving the "short sharp shock" of the British penal system and mistakenly thinking a shadowy brainwashing technique may be the way out. This is an absolute classic from the days when film-makers still made films for ADULTS rather than teenagers, and the long running time flashes by with amazing speed...it's so compelling, you won't even want to blink. Look out for all the familiar faces in the cast, like Warren Clarke, Philip Stone, Miriam Karlin, Steven Berkoff, John Savident and David Prowse.

Interesting film about the nature of crime and punishment. Stanley Kubrick at his best. A young Malcolm McDowell gives a great performance. You'll never hear Beethoven's Ninth in the same way again.

Even though it is kind of offensive, I still really enjoyed it. You could never really guess what was coming next. After watching this, I now plan on reading the book.

this movie is great. with all the rape's and violence . it is like a comedy for crazy people. probably not good for children with looser parents {no supervision}. its great acting, very convincing.if you havent seen it you are not a movie buff. it has a great message that is lost by most people, ";due to lack of education";. almost all of the aspects of this film are great.

Let's be honest, Stanley Kubrick is a genius (minus Eyes Wide Shut). This film may come off as too strong to many viewers, particularly those with weak stomachs. the movie is based around the question ";how much is too much?"; Alex is a young man with a passion for the ol' ultraviolence. after being arrested, he starts a program so he can be accepted back into society. the treatment works so well, Alex can no longer show anger or even fight in self-defense. with scenes of strong violence and sexual misconduct, this movie is a strong R. the scenes are beautiful, the acting is great, and the directing is near perfection. it's a great movie for post-film social commentary discussions.
