Ron Howard returns with a low-budget, high awarding, film, A Beautiful Mind. Starring Russel Crowe as John Nash, Paul Bettany as Charles Hermon, and Jennifer Connelly as Mrs. Nash. Filled with wonderous drama, the 2-disk special eddition DVD comes highly recommended from me with tons and tons of extra material. The film is about the real-life story of John Nash and his journey to becoming a genius and the Nobel Prize, which was awarded to him on 1994. Most likely one of Ron Howards best films. From 007

A wonderful movie. Definitely one of those movies that seeing it a second time helps you understand the movie better. Very thought-provoking. My favorite movie of all time... too bad the stars only go to 5.

Why does Nash's wife, in reality an academic in her own right get pushed into a stereotypical female role? She would have to be insane herself to stay with a man who tried to drown her child. In reality, she didn't.
I didn't feel good about this manipulation.

The only good thing was the way the audience got to percieve reality from Nash's point of view in the beginning. And Ed Harris is hot.

Truly awe- inspiring. A beautiful work peice that is never disappointing. Wonderful cinematography. Unlike this review, the movie flows gracefully without being choppy. There are so many more good things to be said about this movie. 2 more things: Russel Crow is such an amazing actor and seems to perfectly elude the character of John Nash. James Horner does some excellent work with the score, although it does seem to be a little repetative in some places.

Everything about the movie was great!
The acting, cinematography, special effects, soundtrack...and it was pretty close to the book. Not to mention it's the most accurate presentation of schizophrenia [that I've seen]that Hollywood has ever come up with so far. It makes you laugh, it makes you cry--and is just a definate must see for any movie goer. It's great!

Posted: 11/14/2003A review of A Beautiful Mind by Hawkeye3882
I thought it was one of the best movies that I have seen in a long time. The acting esp. Russel Crowe was brilliant. He captured the feelings, lack of social understanding and rose above it all to win the nobel price. My doctor advised me to watch it and get a copy to see whenever I wanted to. It took me a couple of viewings to realize that the people that he saw and heard was in his mind. The actors captured that in a very sincere and realistic way. I was glad to see that movie because it gave people an understanding of what the illness is and how people have to cope with it. He showed us that they have hope over their illness to go on and make something out of themselves. the movie gave me hope.

I thought this movie was great. Excellent acting, script, directing, etc(like all the best films). Anyways, this is a one-time enjoyment because when you see it the 2nd time, the same feeling never comes like the 1st(what movie doesn't give you that feeling?), but this stands out. The feeling is like that of "The Usual Suspects". Extremely recommend this film to anyone.

It is great! It is perfect! I enjoyed every second of it.
I have a beautiful mind and I use medications. I could hardly believe that someone who has not suffered from a mental illness, is able to understand my world.
It revived hope in my heart. (You know, I live at around minute 95 of the movie, just before resuming the normal life!)
This movie is amazing. I love the opening speech when they are entering Harvard. John Nash (Russell Crowe) is a young mathematician who later discovers he is schizophrenic. He has false visions about college friends, the Soviet Union, and more. These visions almost cause him to lose everything, but his wife guides him and he overcomes his problems to win a Nobel Prize. This movie is scary at sometimes and will always put you on the edge of your seat.
