The film is not bound by the trappings from the Godfathers, Casino, and Goodfellas (all classics) and sets a new corse for mafia films. The realism brought to the screen by Ribisi as well as Marsden who proves that he can play a leading man is remarkable. With cameos from greats like Dennis Hopper and Val Kilmer, every scene is gripping. From a dark scene of a man taking a beating with a prostetic leg, to a simple love story, to a test of brotherly love between three family members, this film is fantastic. Bobby Morescos debut as a director is a direct hit, after his Academy Award winning film Crash this is no suprise. Put together with Leo Rossis production talent, theres a new classic in the neighborhood of Mafia movies.
