Synopsis
Fiction and reality blur in this tale of an unemployed actor who kidnaps members of the public and forces them to act in his film at gunpoint. In 2001, Garth Petridis was incarcerated in Australia for committing one of the most bizarre crimes in history: unable to find paying work as an actor despite doing everything in his power to be successful, he began taking hostages and shooting the film that would rocket him to superstardom. Over the course of the production, Garth kept a video diary to tell his side of the story. Eventually, the law caught up with Garth and he was incarcerated. Later, when Garth was released from prison, he recruited filmmaker Gregory Pakis to recreate the outlandish scenario for the entire world to see. This film is the result of that collaboration. By blending re-enactments of the original events with actual video of the hostages acting in Garth's film, Petridis and Pakis offer up one of the most unique and disturbing comedies ever filmed. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
