Opie insists upon taking piano lessons from Clara, only to find that the lessons cut into his football practice. For a while, it looks as if Opie is going to have to choose between a musical and an athletic career. It is up to the boy's football coach Flip Conroy (Rockne Tarkington)-a former professional gridiron star and a classically trained pianist-to save the day.
