Synopsis
Known for his use of rich colors and feast scenes, Paolo Veronese was a preeminent master of the Renaissance style. His work is documented in the one-hour Portrait of an Artist: Paolo Veronese -- Between Art and Inquisition. Veronese's specialty was illusionism. He took traditional group portraits and infused them with an active background and interesting characters. His religious works were created from a secular viewpoint. For this, Veronese was often chastised. Despite his irreverent beliefs, Veronese remains a solid example of the peak of mannerism. ~ Sarah Ing, Rovi
