Running a little more than half a reel (approximately seven minutes), Out of Sight, Out of Mind was essentially an excuse to show off Pathe's patented color-tinting process. A group of lovely young women, dressed in tights, appear out of nowhere, disappear, and reappear again. For no discernible reason, two of the girls are dressed as boys. The "stenciling" process used to color the black-and-white figures is rock-steady; only a trained eye would have realized that the film was not filmed in color to begin with. Evidently Out of Sight, Out of Mind was originally released in tandem with the same studio's Driven to Steal. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
