Rarely does a broken engagement help a relationship, but Salma Hayek and Francois-Henri Pinault seemed to spend more time together once they nixed their nuptial plans. Within two months of their July announcement that the wedding was off, the actress and the French billionaire, who welcomed cutie-pie daughter Valentina in September 2007, were spotted at a soiree in Los Angeles, a fashion show in Paris and a soccer match in Pinnault's hometown of Rennes, France. "They were very together," a soccer spy told People. "They talked a lot during the match and exchanged tender looks. ... They seemed very much in synch with each other."

In related reconciliation news, Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn... more decided to give their 12-year marriage another chance, withdrawing their divorce petition on April 8, four months after they filed. A month later, the couple smooched at a Cannes Film Festival bash hosted by Petra Nemcova, who -- awkward -- put a smile on the oft-cranky actor's face when they stepped out together over Oscar weekend.
