Lindsay Lohan: Lindsay, Lindsay,
Lindsay. Where do we begin with this girl? Now, this isn't a gossip column, but
it's kind of hard to ignore the myriad problems plaguing the recently turned
21-year-old this year. The DUI's, the alleged cocaine, the car situations, the
Mother,
... more the Father, the exhaustion, the hospital visits, the finger-wagging
memos from producers, the in rehab, the out rehab, the back in, the weight
fluctuations, the tanned-skin color fluctuations, the ... oh, you know. None of
this should have anything to do with her work as an actress (which I've
frequently defended) unless, you know, she doesn't show up on time -- or gets
thrown into rehab, both of which she did in 2007. Furthermore, though she gave a
fine performance in "Georgia Rule" and opposite the legendary Jane Fonda, the movie itself wasn't so hot. Ditto for
"Chapter 27" and the muddled, unintentionally hilarious "I Know Who Killed Me." But we're happy she's showing signs of,
at least, personal improvement. For a while there, she was outdoing Carrie Fisher's substance-gobbling actress Suzanne
Vale from "Postcards From the Edge" -- which, come to think of it, would be
a great idea for Lindsay as a remake. Fisher could play the mother -- and she
could probably give her some real-life advice. Are you listening, Miss Fisher?
