one
point up for Cap himself. Meanwhile, Alice Eve ("She's Out of My League")
and Hayley Atwell ("The Prisoner") are both up for Peggy Carter, Cap's World War
II-era girlfriend, with the previously reported Keira Knightley now out of the
mix. We recently pegged Atwell as a potential Talia Al Ghul if Chris Nolan
wanted to bring that character into "Batman 3." Speaking of which, while it's
true that Emily Blunt turned down the role of Peggy, it's false that she did so
for a shot at Catwoman; no one even knows if Catwoman will be in the next
"Batman" film.
By now you've all seen the outstanding trailer for "Splice" right here on
MSN. As we await the movie's June opening, Slashfilm reports that director
Vincenzo Natali has got his eye on two other projects that have us salivating.
One is the previously mentioned "High Rise," based on J.G. Ballard's dystopian
novel of an apartment complex gone savage, while the other is an adaptation of
the Alan Moore-written "Swamp Thing" comics. Moore's run transformed a somewhat
conventional monster into something more profound and metaphysical; it's
considered a high point for the series and comics in general. With "Splice"
distributor Warner Bros. also the owner of "Swamp Thing," let's just say we're
hopeful.

from Roland Emmerich's 1998 dud. But get it right this time, guys!
