A word to the wise: If you've already indulged in a lengthy wake-and-bake
session that's left you dazed and confused, do not — we repeat, DO NOT — start
scarfing down your roommate's green-tinged brownies. They may have a few special
ingredients
... more that will transport you from merely fantastically dizzy to the fifth
dimension. Still, if the heroine of famed indie director Gregg Araki's surreal, riotous romp hadn't impulsively
snacked on those tainted treats, we never would have been blessed with this
first-rate female addition to the tokers' wild pantheon. Anna Faris' wide-eyed, slack-jawed queen of the stoned age
is the sort of bravura comic performance that can almost make viewers forgive
her for taking part in those wretched "Scary Movie" atrocities. (Almost.) Just watch her
Jane F. argue with a dealer over "laissez-faire economics," or contemplate
commemorating her love of lasagna by putting up a picture of Garfield. ("No,
wait ... President Garfield!") It's enough to put a dopey grin on your own mug.
