"Queen of the Damned," based on an Anne Rice vampire novel, was the second of only two movies starring R&B singer Aaliyah (the other was "Romeo Must Die"). Her death in an August 2001 plane crash cut short what was supposed to be a promising... more film career. Whatever the many faults of "Queen," it's clear that Aaliyah had something: an almost ethereal poise that, combined with her beauty, gave her a presence that many musicians-turned-actors lack.
